101 Engraved brass Locomotive Worksplate “London North Eastern Railway Co. No. 2015 Doncaster 1947”. As carried by “Herringbone”. Stamped in the back “524”. Light face polished only and on a wooden mount. (See next lot). SOLD FOR £2100

111 Cast brass Locomotive Worksplate “Vanguard Locomotive No. 1460 Weight 28 tons Nov. 64 Built by Thomas Hill (Rotherham) Ltd. Vanguard Works Kilnhurst”. Ex-loco condition. 7.5×4.5in. Together with its chromed knight on horseback “Vanguard” plate and unusually a chromed “Rebuilt” plate which was mounted below. An interesting trio of plates. The loco was apparently maintained by Brush Traction. SOLD FOR £80

116 Cast aluminium Locomotive Worksplate “British Railways Crewe Built 1964 Power Equipment by Brush and Sulzer”. As carried by the Class 47 DE No. D1587 later 47464. This loco was destroyed in an accident at Elgin on 23rd. Sept. 1986. SOLD FOR £440

122 Enamel Sign “L&S.W.Ry. Agents J.S. White & Son Coal Merchants, Household Removals”. A very scarce pre-group enamel in superb condition. One of only two such signs which were located on the outside wall of the Christchurch Goods Shed adjacent to the main line at the junction of the Hurn branch line. 60x48in. overall. SOLD FOR £460
