Cast aluminium Locomotive Diesel Depot Plaque featuring the Rose of Tinsley Maintenance Depot. It was specially painted and carried by the Class 47 No. 47145 named “Merddin Emrys” on the occasion of the closing of the depot. Replica Nameplate “Diana” cast in gunmetal from the original plate in the Doncaster Grammer School Collection. “Diana” was a BR Class EM2 OHWE Locomotive No. 27003 built at Gorton Works (1068 of 1954). It was named in Jan 1961, w/drawn from service Sept. 1968. Plates removed and exported to Dutch Railways in Sept. 1969. The nameplate measures 23 5/8 x 5 1/2 in. and is accurately cast with drilled and tapped rear fixing holes and bosses and with notches in the two long edges to fit around the loco body side panel jointing strips. | SOLD FOR £300 |

Cast iron Locomotive Smoke Box Numberplate “60034”. As carried by the LNER ‘A4’ Class 4-6-2 built at Doncaster in 1938 (Works No. 1877) and originally named “Peregrine”. It was re-named “Lord Faringdon” in March 1945. A Kings Cross loco, it was then transferred to New England before moving north to Aberdeen Ferryhill for working the 3 hour expresses to Glasgow. It was w/d in Aug. 1966 and cut up by Hughes, Bolckow, North Blyth. The smokebox is in fine condition face restored and an untouched back. | n/s |
