1 Large cast iron Wagon Registration Plate “Registered by the L&SWR Co. 1890 No. 9 to carry 8 tons”. Face restored only and scarce. Measures 10in. across the lugs. SOLD FOR
2 BR(S) fully flanged enamel Station Doorplate “Female Staff” in v.g.c. retaining brass eyelets to the screwholes. SOLD FOR
3 LSWR enamel Station Destination Plate “Basingstoke Farnborough Woking London (Waterloo)”. A chip to one corner otherwise v.g.c. 8×6.25in. SOLD FOR
4 A Great Western Railway Ship Captain’s Cap with gilt laurel wreath and fouled anchor badge surmounted by the gilt GWR twin shields device on a red felt backing with gilt wire border. Complete with chin strap and further gilt wire laurel leaves to the cloth covered peak. V.g.c. and very special. SOLD FOR
5 “Burnham on Sea” original cast iron letters mounted on a new board. These were recovered from the running in board at the GWR Highbridge station. Board is 96x15in., letters 7in. high. SOLD FOR
6 BR(W) aluminium Single Line Key inscribed “Yeovil – Yeovil Town”. Small chip to the key end otherwise v.g.c. and restored. SOLD FOR
7 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “72F” (Wadebridge). “BR(S)” Eastleigh triangle to rear. Face restored only a while ago. SOLD FOR
8 Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway cast iron single digit Bridge Numberplate “3” from the GWR line viaduct in Bath. Unrestored with the curtailed top fixing bolt still in position. SOLD FOR
9 “Great Western Railway” painted wooden Trespass Notice identical to the blue enamel examples but smaller. Superbly hand painted and in fine condition. 21.75×15.75in. o/a. SOLD FOR

11 South Eastern & Chatham Railway St. John Ambulance Association fully titled silver Medal inscribed to “Thomas Peacock in 1919 for passing fourteen examinations”. In its presentation box. SOLD FOR
12 BR(S) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Newington”. One chip to left end and in totally ex-station condition from the former SE&CR location between Rochester & Faversham. SOLD FOR
13 Victorian cast iron Road Milepost Sign bearing Roman numerals “V to Cirencester V to Tetbury XXVIII to Bath”. Unrestored. Possibly from the Old Fosse Way. 19.75×15.5in. SOLD FOR
14 “Great Western Railway Hotels” silver plated Tray by Elkington. Top marked with the twin shields and the title scroll device within an engine turned decoration. Very nice condition. 18×13.5in. SOLD FOR
15 GWR mahogany cased Signal Box Block Bell with tapper and brass church bell. Clearly marked “GWR 1965” above the tapper. V.g.c. SOLD FOR
16 Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Body stamped “S&DJR” has a brass plate “Guard P. Hamblin Templecombe”. Top brass plated “Midland Railway 15640B”. Complete with all fittings and glasses. Restored. SOLD FOR
17 “British Railways Bournemouth West” enamel Station Sign. Restoration to some enamel losses mainly to edges. Very good colour and shine and screwed to a backing frame. 48x18in. This terminus station used by Somerset & Dorset line trains closed in Oct. 1965. SOLD FOR
18 Southern Railway “Fire Exit” enamel Notice. Enamel losses mainly to both right hand corners. Very good colour and shine. 14x12in. “Southern Railway London Bridge” label to rear, presumably where the sign was located. SOLD FOR
19 Fibre Single Line Tablet “Three Oaks – Ore”. A section of the former SE&CR Hastings to Winchelsea line incorporating Ore Tunnel. V.g.c. 25in. long. SOLD FOR
20 “GWR To Station” cast iron Hanging Sign complete with all three suspension lugs. V.g.c. 25in. long. SOLD FOR

22 Oval cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “LMS Built 1918 Derby”. Bolt holes slightly enlarged. Face cleaned, back ex-loco. As carried by the 4F Class 0-6-0 No. 43853. A Gloucester engine mainly in BR days it was transferred to Bath Green Park for its last months in service working over the S&D line. It was w/d June 1963 and cut up at Derby. SOLD FOR
23 Double sided painted wooden Station Train Finger Board “Woking, Guildford Haslemere & Portsmouth Line”. Fine original condition. 48in. long. SOLD FOR
24 Cast aluminium Diesel Locomotive Depot Plaque featuring the Spitfire of Eastleigh depot. A carried example retaining two fixing studs. SOLD FOR

26 A Fascinating purpose made Cigarette Lighter made for or by a London Brighton & South Coast Railway Staff Member. It comprises brass ring with “LB&SC Railway” uniform buttons each side surmounted with a friction wheel and filler cap. Very well made and a nice novelty item. SOLD FOR
27 GWR cast iron pre-grouping Home Signal Finial for mounting atop square wooden posts. Restored. 30in. tall. SOLD FOR

30 Cardiff Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Body is stamped “CR Co. 85” and brass plated “Messenger & Sons makers Birmingham”. Complete with all fittings and glasses, cowled front lens and in very good unrestored condition. Rare indeed. SOLD FOR
31 Southern Railway 50 years service enamelled gold Medallion inscribed to “R.J. Meek 1880-1930”. Superb condition and boxed. 50 year medallions in gold were only issued prior to 1939. SOLD FOR
32 Southern Railway 50 years service enamelled silver Medallion inscribed to “C.J.J. Penny 1893-1943”. Superb condition. SOLD FOR
33 Great Western Railway mahogany cased roundhead Wall Clock with 8in. dial bearing the GWR roundel. The fine fusee movement is chain driven and set between brass plates spaced via turned pillars. The back box bears a “GWR 2515” ivorine plate. Working order with pendulum and key. GWR 8 inch dial clocks are rare and of course very displayable. SOLD FOR
34 “Associated Motorways Booking Office” double sided enamel Sign with wall flange. A nice period sign incorporating a single decker coach. Some restoration. 23x18in. SOLD FOR
35 GWR quad royal pictorial Poster “Buckfast Abbey. Devon” by Claude Buckle. A superb image in fine condition by this well-known poster artist. No folds and laid on linen. n/s
36 Two good quality Great Western Railway oak framed Mirrors both branded “GWR” in the back. Good original condition with matching bull nosed frames 20x18in. and 19x14in. SOLD FOR
37 Great Western Railway Economic System of Maintenance, Ganger’s Occupation Key Control Instrument for the Holme Lacy – Fawley section. A superb instrument beautifully restored with polished wooden base and lifting lid, brass fittings and ivorine description plates. 18x13x12.5in. o/all. The locations were on the Hereford to Ross-on-Wye line closed in Nov. 1964. SOLD FOR
38 Southern Railway enamel Station Target Sign “Broadstone”. Some extremely good restoration to two screwhole chipped areas. Very good colour and shine and screwed to a backing board. The station, junction for the S&D, Bournemouth & Wimborne line was north east of Poole and closed in March 1966. SOLD FOR
39 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “84C” (Banbury then Truro). Face restored only a while ago. SOLD FOR
40 “LB & SCR Loco Dept” original Locoman’s brass Cap Badge (unrestored) together with an original “Engineman SR” Locoman’s brass Cap Badge (lightly polished only). (2). SOLD FOR
41 Webb & Thompson Single Line Staff with brass plates “Lidford” (sic) and “Lifton” and complete with Annett’s key to the end. A former GWR branch from Lydford to Launceston closed in Dec. 1962. SOLD FOR

46 “Great Western Railway Notice. No unauthorised person allowed in this box by order”. Casting number “U75” to the back. A nice original example of the popular cast iron signal box doorplate. (See also lot 371). SOLD FOR
