1 ‘LNER Station Trimdon’ double sided enamel Direction Sign. Both faces in fine condition with deep colour and shine. In a wooden frame. A former NER station between Hartlepool and Bishop Auckland. £
2 LNWR 3 aspect Handlamp. Top and body stamped ‘L&NWR Car. Dept. Wolverton’. Body also stamped ‘Fenny Stratford Police No. 3 A 1990’. Complete with all fittings and glasses and unrestored. A location on the Bletchley – Bedford line. £
3 LNER cast iron station Seatback Nameplate ‘Great Chesterford’. V.g.c. and face restored only. 55.75in. long. An ex-GER station on the Cambridge – Bishops Stortford line. £
4 North Eastern Rly. brass Instrument / Signal Box Shelf Plate engraved both sides ‘Chaloner Whin’ / ‘Marsh Lane E’. The former a well-known ECML junction south of York and the other a Leeds location. £
5 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate ’70F’, (Fratton then Bournemouth). BR(S) Eastleigh triangle to back. Painted both sides. £
6 Engraved brass Locomotive Builders Plate ‘Hudswell, Clarke & Co. Ltd. Railway Foundry Leeds No. 678 1903. Rebuilt 1940’. As carried by an 0-6-0ST. New to Lofthouse Colliery and named ‘No. 2 Baker’. Lightly face polished only. 12.8x8in. £
7 Great Central Rly. Station Wall Lamp from ‘Edwinstowe’ complete with vessel and burner, glass chimney, reflector and all glazing including name tablet. Nicely restored 24in. tall. A former LD&ECR station closed in Sept. 1964. £
8 LNER full title and coat of arms Best Kept Station Certificate for 1933. Fourth class prize awarded to Tumby Woodside. Superb condition and in its original glazed frame. 18×14.25in. o/all. A station on the Woodhall Jct – Bellwater Jct loop line closed in Oct. 1970. £

10 ‘Hull Barnsley & West Riding Junction Railway & Dock Company’ fully titled cast iron Trespass Notice. ‘George Scaum Secretary’. V.g.c. The face restored a while ago. The back is painted. £
11 Great Western Railway centre balanced wooden Signal Arm with spectacle & lenses intact. V.g.c. £
12 A superb LMS lead crystal Sandwich / Dessert Plate beautifully hand engraved ‘LMS’ in a stylish vertical format on an acid etched and brilliant cut panel with additional border decoration to the same. We sold a similar item nine years ago which came to us from Baltimore. We speculate that these plates were sent to America with the Coronation Scot Exhibition Train in 1939. Certainly we have never seen such remarkable pieces of LMS glassware. Approx. 8.25in. square. £
13 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate ‘60929’ as carried by the LNER Class V2 2-6-2 built at Doncaster in 1941. Face restored only. A Gateshead and York engine it was w/d from the latter in June 1965 and cut up by Cashmores, Great Bridge. £
14 ‘LNWR Outside Porter No. 7 Llandudno’ engraved brass Armband. Very good condition with one strap / buckle, the other curtailed. £
15 Midland Railway cast iron Signal Box Mechanical Indicator. Face embossed ‘Engine Sidings No. 1’ and ‘No. 25 Slot’. Complete with ‘On / Off’ sliding tablet. £
16 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate ’50A’ (York). Unrestored. £
17 Great Northern Railway (Ireland) double royal pictorial Poster ‘Dublin Horse Show 1955’. Features fine artwork by Olive Whitmore depicting horses above a world globe. Light folds, some minor foxing spots and three tiny corner losses. £

19 North Eastern Rly. wooden backed Thermometer. ‘N.E.R.’ to top face and makers name to back ‘Mawson & Swan Moseley St. Newcastle on Tyne. V.g.c. and scarce. £
20 An Officer’s Sword of the South Indian Railway Volunteer Rifle Corps complete with scabbard. The fully titled and highly decorated blade also incorporates the Queen Victoria crown and cypher and the makers name ‘Hobson & Sons Lexington St. London’. The knuckle guard also incorporates the stringed bugle horn and Victorian crown. Fine condition throughout. £

23 Halifax and Ovenden Joint Line (GN & LY) 3 aspect small GNR pattern Handlamp. Top and body stamped ‘GNR 8850’. Top has a polished brass plate ‘H and O Joint’ and the body ‘Great Northern Railway Company Holmfield 1’. Re-location plate ‘Lowestoft’. Complete with ‘GNR’ vessel, all fittings and glasses. Unrestored and rare. £
24 Caledonian Railway non-upholstered oak Waiting Room Chair bearing a carved ‘CR’ cartouche to the back rail. Label to underside reads ‘LMS return to Gleneagles’. V.g.c. £
25 ‘The Blackpool & Fleetwood Tram Road Compy’ Staff Cap Badge featuring the arms of the towns below an early tram car. V.g.c. £
26 Lancashire & Yorkshire Rly. Tyers Signal Box Block Instrument. Original cast brass plates ‘Up Loop’ and ‘Luddenden West’. Roof is clearly marked ‘LYR’. The paint to the description dials is lifting and requires stabilising. However a nice unrestored instrument. The location lies west of Halifax. The station here closed in Sept. 1962. £
27 LNER 3 aspect Handlamp. Body brass plated ‘London & North Eastern Railway Saffron Walden. Complete with all fittings, glasses and unrestored. A station on the Bartlow – Audley End line closed in Sept. 1964. £
28 LMS Hotels silver plated Tea Strainer and its matching drip holder by Mappin & Webb. Both items top marked with the company title in a vertical block format. Superb condition. £
29 Industrial Locomotive cast brass Nameplate and worksplate set. ‘Festival of Britain’ and two builders plates ‘Hudswell Clarke & Co. Ltd. Railway Foundry Leeds England DM 732 1951’ plus another ‘DM 733 1951’. As carried by 3’6′ gauge flameproofed underground tandem diesel mechanical locos. New to Moorgreen Colliery, Eastwood. They were 100hp machines and the first tandem units. DM 733 was preserved by the Leeds Industrial Museum in July 1984 but DM 732 was abandoned underground in July 1985. The nameplate, face polished only is 32×4.5in and the worksplates 8x4in. All nicely mounted on a wooden panel with ‘NCB’ plaque. £
30 An opaque white glass Ceiling Lamp Shade reputedly from the waiting room at Hassop station. Complete with gilded brass acanthus leaf rose and collar. Small chip to underside only. 11in. diam. A former Midland Railway station in Derbyshire. £
31 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate ‘6E’ (Wrexham then Chester West, finally Oswestry). Restored a while ago. £
32 Original Painting by Joe Townend G.R.A. depicting Black 5 No. 44771 passing ‘WD’ 90187 in the loop at Dent on the Settle & Carlisle line. Oil on canvas 30x24in. Unframed. £
33 A Pair of cast iron Railchairs. MSLR and GCR examples. Nice to get these two in one go. (2). £
34 Lancashire & Yorkshire Rly. copper Signal Lamp Case clearly marked ‘LYR’. Complete with lenses. Devoid of paint and lightly polished. £

37 BR(E) half flanged enamel Station Totem Sign ‘Derby Road’. Two small re-touched face chips otherwise v.g.c. with fine deep colour & shine. A station east of Ipswich on the Felixstowe line. £
38 LNER silver plated ‘Coronation’ Coffee Pot by Walker & Hall. Face inscribed with the ‘LNER’ speed logo associated with this streamlined train. V.g.c. £
39 NER Plan of Market Weighton station, yard and approach lines, with table of siding lengths. Dated March 1921. Some damp staining. In its original glazed frame 31.5x12in. o/all. The station closed in Nov. 1965. £
40 Rectangular cast brass Plate ‘Warwickshire County Council Licence No. 151 date 26th. June 1918’ (date details inscribed). As carried by a steam roller and in fine ex-loco condition. 7.2×4.2in. with a wooden mount. £
41 LNER Great Eastern Amateur Athletic Assn.’ silver and enamelled Medallion with a gilt figure of a footballer on the reverse. Fine condition. See also lot no. 129. £
42 Great Eastern Railway Station Platform Seat with ‘GER’ monogrammed cast iron ends. V.g.c. throughout. 81.75in. long. £
43 GWR fully titled cast iron 1874 Weak Bridge Notice ‘To Owners and drivers of locomotives etc.’ V.g.c. and unrestored. £
44 North British Rly. 3 aspect Handlamp stamped ‘6884 Boness’. Top has ‘R.G. Murray Glasgow’ makers plate. Complete with all fittings, glasses and unrestored. A station on the Bridgeness branch closed in May 1956. £
45 Four Albums of postcard size mainly black & white photographs. All regions steam, diesel and electric locos plus a few stations. Approx. 450. £
46 North Eastern Rly. cast iron Milepost Top ‘NE 3/4’. Face restored a while ago. Uncommon. £
47 Carriage Print ‘The Three Sisters, Glencoe, Argyll’ by Frank Sherwin from the 1956 – 57 Scottish Region series. V.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame. £
48 Pair of Paintings by the well-known Boston artist Les Perrin, depicting vintage cars. An unusual theme for him and away from his better known railway work. Both oil on board and in matching frames. Each 19.5 x13.4in. o/all. (2). £
49 Swedish Railways 3 aspect Handlamp. Body embossed ‘SJ’. Burner missing otherwise all complete and unrestored. £
50 Great Eastern Rly. Surveyors mahogany Theodolite Case. The lid bearing a gilded brass plaque engraved ‘GER Engineers Dept.’ Opens to reveal partial equipment such as lenses, spirit level etc. Complete with its original leather carrying case lettered ‘GER Engineers Dept. T2’ with straps but lacking one side panel to the lid. Although incomplete this is a scarce item indeed. £
