BIDDING PROCEDURE
Bids can be placed as soon as you receive your catalogue.
Bids by post, fax or email must be received at our offices no later than 5.00pm Monday 13th AUGUST 2012.
From 5 o'clock onwards on final selling nights please ring the correct number (see top of each page).
In the last 15 minutes of any bidding block no new bidders are allowed.
In the last 15 minutes of any bidding block limit your bids to that particular block only.
Our U.K. time is obtained from BT by telephone dialling "123" and our clocks are re-set each bidding day to ensure as much accuracy as possible.
The auctioneer's decision is final when a bidding block deadline time has been reached.
BIDDING UNITS
Up to £50 = £2 / £50 to £100 = £5
£100 to £300 = £10 / £300 to £1000 = £20 / £1000 to £3000 = £50
£3000 to £5000 = £100 / £5000 + = £200
Any bidder can place bids "up to" and these will be held in the strictest confidence and will not be revealed unless another bidder reaches your top figure. The successful bidder will pay one unit only above the underbidder.

BIDDING ENQUIRIES FOLLOWING CLOSE OF AUCTION
WE DO NOT SEND OUT INVOICES.
It is the bidder's responsibility to contact us no later than 2 days after the close of the auction to enquire about the outcome of your bid(s).
If you have bid successfully you will be asked how you would like your lots to be sent or whether you would wish to collect or have your lots personally delivered by us to other venues etc.
Please also note that we do not send clocks, block instruments, heavy or large items.
We offer the following :-
Special Delivery - Minimum £8 charge. Insurance up to £2500 with some size and weight restrictions.
Certificate of Posting - Minimum £3 charge. This carries compensation up to £27 only if lost in the post.
Parcel Post - Please enquire about rates and insurance.
Personal Collection - Any reasonable times but please telephone before calling.
Personal Delivery - To other auction venues etc. We charge minimum £1 to max. £5.

PAYMENT FOR LOTS
PAYMENT IN FULL MUST BE MADE AND RECEIVED BY TRA WITHIN 4 DAYS of the close of the auction. Failure to do this & we reserve the right to sell to the underbidder without any further reference to you. Goods will NOT be released before Payment in full (including carriage arrangements) has been received and cleared. Payment by cheque, debit card or credit cards are all accepted (3% surcharge on credit cards only).

INSTRUCTIONS TO VENDORS

TERMS OF ENTRY
10% Commission rate per Lot.
£5 minimum charge per Lot sold or unsold.
TRA will try to ensure that goods placed with us are entered for auction as soon as possible, but we reserve the right to delay goods for inclusion in a later auction if we feel that this practice would benefit the vendor.
TRA reserves the right to combine divide or rearrange items if we feel this would be in the best interests of the vendor.
Any item entered into the auction & then withdrawn by the vendor will attract a £10 penalty.
All items entered for TRA must be the sole property of each vendor and not the subject of any hire purchase or other third party agreement.

CONDITION OF GOODS
It is essential that any defects are made known to us including cracks, welds, replacement parts, re-sprays, etc. so that these can be made known to our bidders.
It is our policy to discourage the entry of poor quality or sub-standard items.
Goods handed to us will be given free carriage to our auction room.
Easily damaged, fragile or breakable items for example glass, china, paperwork, etc. will be accepted at vendors risk and should be properly packaged by you. In the event of damage occurring to these latter type of goods as a result of your inadequate packaging whilst being transported by TRA no compensation will be paid.
In the very remote case of damage or loss to vendors goods whilst on our premises the liability of TRA is strictly limited to the amount of the written reserve not the final selling price realised.

RESERVES
Reserves must be agreed with us before entry. Items will only be accepted if the agreed reserve confers on each item a reasonably good chance of TRA selling it for you.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS AND VENDORS.
All persons visiting TRA premises do so entirely at their own risk.
TRA accepts no responsibility for injury or accident to persons or their property whilst on TRA land and premises.
All persons shall have no claim against TRA in respect of the cancellation or postponement of a sale however occasioned.
In the event of temporary loss of our telephone services, the evening(s) affected will follow on from the END of the auction e.g. If a Monday only is lost out of a Monday / Tuesday sale the Mondays Lots will be auctioned on Wednesday with the same time deadlines, similarly should Monday and Tuesday be lost the sale will take place on Wednesday and Thursday with the same time deadlines.

STORAGE COSTS
Sold and unsold lots transferred to TRA storage facility following an auction are not insured and TRA will not be held responsible if these are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. All lots not removed within two calendar months of the end of the sale will incur a storage charge of £1 per day. If the storage fees then equal the selling price, then TRA will re-sell them by auction or private treaty without any further notice to the buyer or vendor. We will not guarantee or be responsible for attaining the original selling price.
