Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “63656” as carried by the LNER Class 04 2-8-0 shedded at Colwick early in the BR period, later transferred to Barnsley, finally Staveley (GC) where withdrawal came in Dec. 1962 followed by cutting up at Doncaster. A nicely ‘balanced’ smokebox with curly 6’s, other Class numbers cast in the back and cleaned otherwise ex-loco. A small repair to torch spillage at right hand bolt hole. |
