101 Oval cast iron Locomotive Builders Plate “Built 1957 Darlington” as carried by a BR Standard Class 2-6-2T 84020 – 84029. Ex-loco condition. (See next lot). SOLD FOR

102 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “84020” as carried by the BR Standard Class 2-6-2T built at Darlington in 1957 and allocated to Ashford. After a woefully short life it was w/d from Llandudno Junction and cut up by Hughes Bolckow, North Blyth. SOLD FOR

105 South Devon Railway oak Chair bearing the “SDR” initials boldly carved in relief in the back panel. Excellent condition for its age. The railway opened between Exeter and Plymouth in May 1846 and was vested in the GWR in Aug. 1878. SOLD FOR

106 Original Painting by Peter M. Green G.R.A. titled “Safely Fast (The GWR Automatic Train Control)”. It depicts a foggy scene on a four track main line. Very atmospheric. Oil on canvas and framed. SOLD FOR

107 Southern Railway enamel Station Target Sign “Barnstaple Junction”. Repainted chips as per photo and the white is a little grainy. A nice target however with potential. From the former LSWR station one time junction for Torrington and Ilfracombe lines. SOLD FOR

110 Lima ‘00’ Gauge boxed Class 50 DE Locomotives “50008 Thunderer” & “50015 Valiant”. Together with Pathfinder Tours “The Valiant Thunderer” rail tour booklet 23/11/1991 and a souvenir china mug celebrating the loco’s “Finale” Bristol to Newquay and Paddington”. SOLD FOR

111 Cast aluminium Locomotive Nameplate “Thunderer” together with its badge. As carried by the BR English Electric Type 4 DE Loco No. D408 later 50008 into traffic in March 1968, and named in Sept. 1978. The ex-loco nameplate is 45×9.75in and has suffered removal damage to the upper left corner which has distorted and cracked the aluminium approx. 4in. long. The cast aluminium badge is 18.75×15.25in. with captive bolts to the back. Both are in ex-loco condition. Also included in this lot is another small cast brass badge 6.8in. dia. inscribed “Thunderer” in the back in v.g.c. which we believe is from the namesake Warship. SOLD FOR

123 Southern Railway cast brass Locomotive Nameplate “Exmoor” together with its “West Country Class” cast brass scroll. The nameplate is 55in. long and the scroll 30.75in. long. Both face restored only and mounted on a green painted backing board. The Bulleid Light Pacific was into traffic in Jan 1946 and re-built in Dec. 1957. Its BR depots were Exmouth Junction, Ramsgate, Bricklayers Arms and Eastleigh withdrawn from the latter April 1965 and cut up by Woodfields, Newport. One of only two Bulleid Pacifics scrapped by them. (See next lot). SOLD FOR

139 Taff Vale / Rhymney Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Typical Welsh Valley Company squat style with cowled front lens, re-entrant top handle and distinctive back catch. 150 BR(W) cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “5356” as carried by the GWR 4300 Class 2-6-0 built at Swindon in August 1918. In BR days it was allocated to Plymouth Laira and Bristol St. Phillips Marsh. It was w/d in Oct 1959 and cut up at Round Oak Steel Works, Brierley Hill, Staffs. n/s
