Complete with LNWR vessel, burner, glass chimney and glasses. 14.75in tall and quite superb. “Hibernia” was built in 1920 by W. Denny & Sons, Dumbarton for the Holyhead – Kingstown Mail Service. It had a passenger capacity of 1414. |

As carried by the Benguela Railways 4-8-0 built by Baldwin in 1921. “215” was one of a pair of 9B Class locos mostly working on the coastal section between Lobito and Benguela. They survived in daily use until 1974. Both were cut up in 1980. A photo of 215 accompanies the plate. |

Cast brass Locomotive Nameplate “Pommern”. Face restored only. 43.25in. long. As carried by the Eastern Region Pacific No. 60133 built at Darlington in 1948 (Works No. 2052). A Grantham Copley Hill and Ardsley loco, it was w/d from the latter in June 1965 and cut up by Clayton & Davie, Dunstan-on-Tyne. The plate is in fine condition. Back stamped with other loco names such as Kestrel, Bittern, Gannet,” etc. The racehorse “Pommern” was owned by Mr. S. B. Joel and won the 1915 Derby, 2000 Guineas and St. Leger. (See next lot). |
