Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “48558” as carried by the LMS 8F 2-8-0 built at Darlington in 1945 (Works No. 1965) and on loan to the LNER. Then to the LMS in 1947. Into BR service at Buxton followed by Widnes, Buxton again, Warrington, Aintree and Rose Grove where withdrawal came in October 1965. It was stored at Glasgow Eastfield for three months and cut up at Campbell’s, Airdrie in March 1966. |
