253 LB&SCR 3 aspect Handlamp stamped with company initials in top and body. Body also has two plates: Copper “L&W Dept. Longhedge” (Loco & Works) and brass “London Brighton and South Coast Railway Company” Complete with all fittings and glasses, top handle bound with plastic wire. Restored. 260 Southern Railway cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “34044” as carried by the ‘West Country’ Class Pacific named “Woolacombe”. A Bournemouth engine for many years it was a regular performer over the Somerset & Dorset Line to Bath. It was w/d from Bournemouth in May 1967 and cut up at Cashmores, Newport. The Smokebox plate is in fine ex-loco condition, with a very sooty back apart from the exposure of the “BR(S)” Eastleigh casting mark. (See next lot). SOLD FOR
