Smokebox Numberplate “30327” as carried by ex-LSWR 700 Class 0-6-0 built by Dubs & Co. in June 1897 (Works No. 3532) and numbered 709, later 327. A Guildford, Salisbury and Exmouth Jct. Loco in BR days. It was w/d from the latter in May 1961 and cut up at Eastleigh Works the following month. The face re-painted. Circular double sided brass Pass “Sir J.J. Ltd. War Dept. Workmens Train 779 / Salisbury to Codford or Hettesbury” (sic). 2in. dia. It refers to Sir John Jackson Ltd. who supplied workers as WW1 hut erectors in the Wylye Valley in 1914 for the 35,000 troops encamped in the area.
