1 LNER cast iron Doorplate “Book Room”. A scarce example. Face restored only. SOLD FOR
2 Midland Railway mahogany cased Rotary Signal Box Block Instrument. V.g.c. SOLD FOR
3 Double sided painted wooden Station Fingerboard “Knaresbro’, Starbeck, Harrogate, Otley, Guiseley, Shipley, Bradford” with old fashioned pointing hand under the black paint. Fine ex-station condition 42in. long. You won’t find much hardware mentioning Otley. SOLD FOR
4 “LNER Stop! Look! Listen!” cast iron Notice with small “LNER” initials and casting no. “0.150”. Restored and rare sign. 26x22in. SOLD FOR
5 Stockton & Darlington Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Brass plate to the body embossed “S&DR Co.” A square fronted lamp with wire top handle and early flat backed vessel probably original. Complete with all glasses and restored. SOLD FOR
6 Carriage Print “Forth Bridge, Scotland” by Kenneth Steel from the 1948-55 series. Nick to top margin and in an original type glazed frame. SOLD FOR
7 Midland Railway long brass Signal Box Lever Plate inscribed “Starting To Melton Passenger” with original red wax infill to engraving. V.g.c. 14.25in. long. SOLD FOR
8 “LNER Notice. Any person found trespassing or throwing rubbish of any kind on to the railway company’s property will be prosecuted” cast iron Sign with casting number “032”. A scarce notice face restored only. 26.25x15in. SOLD FOR
9 Oval cast iron Locomotive Builders Plate “Built by (and on loan to) London North Eastern Railway Co. 1944 Doncaster Works No. 1966”. As carried by a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 No. 48518. The loco spent most of its BR career at Willesden. W/d in July 1965 and despatched to Barry Docks. 13.5×7.75in. (Words in brackets are ground off). SOLD FOR
10 Four Midland Railway brass Signal Box Lever Plates “Home From LD&ECRly. To Great Central Rly”; “Points Up Main Line & Gt. Central Line”; “Points In LD&EC Line”; “Distant From LD&ECRly. To Masboro Passr”. A superb quartet mounted on a triangular block of polished hardwood. SOLD FOR
11 Great Eastern Railway 3 aspect sliding knobs Handlamp from the GN & GE Joint Line. Stamped “GER Donington Rd” complete with all fittings, glasses and back handle. V.g.c. SOLD FOR
12 “Arkright Street” Signal Box Diagram relating to the box just south of Nottingham Victoria on the ex-GCR main line. Dated 1965 and in a glazed frame. 50×20.75in o/all. SOLD FOR
13 LMS “Way Out” enamel Sign with pointing hand. Couple of edge chips otherwise good condition. 18x9in. SOLD FOR
14 Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “42323”. As carried by the 4P. Class 2-6-4T built at Derby in 1928. A long term Stoke engine it was w/d from there in June 1962 and cut up by Cashmore’s, Great Bridge. SOLD FOR
15 LNER brass Locomotive Whistle nicely polished and mounted on a wooden display board. Brass plaque attached is engraved “A3 Book Law No. 2599”. SOLD FOR
16 Double sided illuminated perspex Sign “British Rail Agent Tickets and Reservations at station prices. Intercity. Sleepers. Motorail. Golden Rail. Sealink”. Complete with wiring and fluorescent tube. V.g.c. but check it over before use. 6.5×6.5×39.5in. long. SOLD FOR
17 Caledonian Railway Waiting Room Wall Lamp stamped in the backplate “Caledonian A172”. Complete with brass burner, glass chimney and reflector. Nicely restored in Caley Blue. SOLD FOR
18 Railway Executive Eastern Region double royal Poster “Nottinghamshire” by Frank Newbould featuring Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest. Good condition with no folds. SOLD FOR
19 MR / LMS wooden Signal Box Board “Trent Junction” with applied cast letters. From the box between Nottingham and Derby. V.g.c. and face restored only. 83×11.5in. SOLD FOR
20 “L&NW Ry. Notice for Companies Servants Only” small cast iron Sign. Face restored only long ago. A scarce notice 13×7.25in. SOLD FOR
21 Great Northern Railway 3 aspect Handlamp brass plated “Thomas Knight Makers” (polished) and “London & North Eastern Railway Great Horton Sig. Box 4”. A Bradford location complete with all glasses but lacks vessel. V.g.c. and restored. SOLD FOR
22 A large brass 3 aspect Marine Lamp with sliding knobs. Large oval makers plate “Winchester and Brewer East Smithfield London”. A handsome and impressive lamp nicely polished and complete with rape oil vessel, all fittings and glasses including curved bevelled edged front lens. 17.75in. tall overall. SOLD FOR

24 “GER” Office Stamp. A brass head on an ebonised wooden handle. V.g.c. and complete with a wax seal impression. SOLD FOR
25 BR(W) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Twyford”, one re-touched chip to the upper panel otherwise v.g.c. with good colour and shine. SOLD FOR
26 “Joint Railway 82” cast iron Crane Numberplate. 9.75x4in. Face restored only a while ago. Plates of this style are known to have been used on the Somerset & Dorset Joint Rly. SOLD FOR
27 Cast aluminium Road Sign “Low Bridge Headroom 12’-0” 680yds” with directional arrow. Manufactured by “Needham Stockport”. A large sign 28×14.25in with some reflective glass beads missing but in fine ex-roadside condition. SOLD FOR
28 “GNR 1” oval cast iron Bridge Numberplate. Face restored. SOLD FOR
29 “LNER Notice. Motors or other vehicles must not cross this weighbridge except for weighing. The gross weight on any one axle of the vehicle must not exceed _ Tons” cast iron Sign with “04” casting number. The tonnage figure is missing. An uncommon sign nicely restored. 26.25x15in. SOLD FOR
30 London & North Western Railway Chapman’s Patent 3 aspect Handlamp. Brass plated “London & North Western Makers Locomotive Department Crewe No. _” and stamped in the body “Signal Dept. Crewe”. Complete with original vessel, “LNWR” porcelain burner, all fittings and glasses (blue cracked). V.g.c. and original condition. Scarce. SOLD FOR
31 Carriage Print “Citadel Station, Carlisle” by Kenneth Steel from the LMR 1952 Architectural Series. In an original type glazed frame. SOLD FOR
32 “Great Western Railway” wooden Poster Board in fine original condition with shaded paintwork full title. V.g.c. 43.5×43.5in. Original painted location “Westbury (Wilts)” is painted on the rear in fine script. SOLD FOR

34 Oval cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “Hudswell Clarke & Co. Ltd. Railway Foundry Leeds England No. 1814 1948”. A very unusual plate, a type normally used on diesel locomotives but a few were fitted to steam locos including this example which was carried by a 0-4-0ST new to NCB Lowca Colliery, later in Dec. 1950 to Solway as “Solway No. 2”, then William Pit and Ladysmith Washery. Scrapped Sept. 1976. 8.25×4.1in. SOLD FOR
35 London & North Western Railway Guards leather Bandolier with ornate nickel silver mounts and “LNWR” initials badge together with a leather watch case complete with full title and ‘Britannia’ nickel badge. Plates 93 and 94 in the Froggatt Button Book are photos of a LNWR guard similarly attired and a close up of the bandolier and watch case. The condition of our examples is fairly good. SOLD FOR
36 North British Railway 3 aspect Bulpitt Patent Handlamp stamped “2193 S Inveresk” and “NBR 6186 Bulpitt & Sons Birmingham 1907”. Complete with original Bulpitt vessel and burner, all fittings and glasses. Unrestored. SOLD FOR
37 German Locomotive Depot cast iron Plate “Rbd Dresden”. Ex-loco condition. 7.5×2.25in. SOLD FOR
38 A Box containing approx. 650 black & white postcard size views of locomotives. Together with GNR & GER official postcards. A small box of colour slides and photographic negatives. Qty. SOLD FOR
39 Oval cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “Avonside Engine Co. Limited 1617 1912 Bristol”. As carried by std. gauge 0-6-0ST. at the Stanton & Staveley Works and named “Stanton No. 16”. Face restored only. 10.75×6.5in. SOLD FOR
40 A set of four “LMS Hotels” Hock Wine Glasses with etched titles. V.g.c. throughout. Each glass is 7.5in. tall. SOLD FOR
41 Great Eastern Railway Sherry Glass acid etched with the “GER” ornate intertwined script initials. V.g.c. 4.25in. tall. SOLD FOR
42 Oval cast brass ‘9×5’ Locomotive Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 8313 Darlington Works 1911”. Face restored only. Ex-J71 Class 0-6-0T No. 68313. SOLD FOR
43 Great Eastern Railway Splitter Lamp stamped “GER” in large letters and “Dovercourt Bay”. Complete with original “GER” vessel with rape oil burner. V.g.c. and restored. SOLD FOR
44 GNR Platform Lamp Glass Nameplate “Tumby Woodside”. V.g.c. From the station on the Lincolnshire ‘New Line’ closed in 1970. SOLD FOR
45 GNR double royal letterpress Poster headed “Private Motor Omnibuses”. Dated 1914. It details the rates for private parties arriving and departing Kings Cross. Some minor losses but unusual. SOLD FOR
46 GNR Somersault Signal Lamp Case brass plated “Great Northern Railway No. 13304” and a copper plate “Humberstone 15”. From the station east of Leicester Belgrave Road closed in Oct. 1962 but the line remained opened for East Coast holiday trains for a few more years. V.g.c. and restored. SOLD FOR
