401 LNER cast brass ‘9×5’ Locomotive Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 61313 N.B. Loco Co. 1948”. Face painted only.
402 LNER Lowestoft Central Train Departures & Arrivals Poster Timetable Sept. 1938 to April 1939. V.g.c. with folds only and in a glazed frame 41.25×26.25in. o/all.
403 North British Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Body plated “Hendry Brothers Great Clyde Street Glasgow” and is stamped “NBR S3518 Nisbet”. A station on the Roxburgh – Jedburgh branch closed in Aug. 1948. The lamp is complete with all fittings and glasses and unrestored.
404 LNER official cast white metal Locomotive Paperweight “Silver Link”. V.g.c.
405 GNR Ground Signal Lamp Case with “Great Northern Railway” brass numberplate and “Shepreth” brass plate. Complete with all fittings and glass. Restored. A location on the Cambridge – Hitchin line.
406 GER textured tinplate Vesta Match Case with contents. The lid bears a nickel framed celluloid image of the “Great Eastern Rly. Cos. Liverpool St. Hotel and Abercorn Rooms”. V.g.c. and a rare item. 2.25x2in.
407 LNER cast iron Station Doorplate “Ladies Waiting Room”. In fine ex-station condition.
408 BR(NE) fully flanged enamel Station Sign “Way out over the footbridge”. Minor edge wear only and with fine deep colour and shine. 48x12in.
409 “Caledonian Railway” silver plated two handled Bowl by Elkington 1907. Company title and rampant lion shield to the face. 5.6in. dia.
410 LNER, GNR pattern 3 aspect Handlamp brass plated “London & North Eastern Railway Lincoln Pyewipe 10”. Complete with all fittings and glasses. Restored. The location was west of Lincoln. (See also lots 21, 87 and 340).
411 A pair of London Brighton & South Coast Railway cast iron Bridge Numberplates “33” and “207”. Both v.g.c. and face restored a while ago.
412 Caledonian Rly. Oil Can. Stamped “Caledonian” and has a large brass plate “Cal. Ry. Engine Oil”. Complete with stopper. V.g.c. 11in tall.
413 BR(S) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Slade Green”. Some largish re-touched enamel losses but good colour and shine. A former SECR station on the London – Gravesend Line.
414 “Great Northern Hotels Kings Cross Leeds Peterborough Bradford” Vesta Match Case. Good condition.
415 “Midland Grand Hotel St. Pancras” Vesta Match Case with contents. Good condition.
416 LNER cast brass ‘9×5’ Locomotive Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 63432 (strip) Armstrong Whitworth 1920”. Face restored only. As carried by the Q6 Class 0-8-0 w/d from West Hartlepool in May 1965 and cut up by M. Baum, Cleveland Dockyard, Middlesbrough.
417 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “51F” (West Auckland). Face restored only.
418 Great Northern & Great Eastern Joint Committee upholstered Office Chair branded “GN & GE JC 82 on the base. Brass makers plate B. Corrick Steam Furniture Works Colegate St. Norwich”. Original green Rexine upholstery. V.g.c.
419 LNER octagonal cast iron Bridge Numberplate “248a”. An unusual GER pattern plate with a lower case “a”. “Norwich” is chalked on the back.
420 BR(ER) “Danger High Voltage” enamel Sign with five further lines of text. Chip to one screwhole otherwise ex-service condition. 16.5x7in.
421 Barry Railway 3 aspect Handlamp complete with all fittings and glasses. V.g.c. and painted. Label on front lens says “Lamp No. 290 ex-Jack French Shunter Barry Docks”.
422 Chinese cast iron 1984 Locomotive Builders Plate from a ‘QJ’. Face restored only, the back painted “QJ 6637 Daban”. 29x9in. Complete with its Chinese delivery sack!
423 Four London Brighton & South Coast Railway Official Photographic Postcards. Two have been postally used and all are in good condition. (4).
424 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “61189”. As carried by the B1 Class 4-6-0 built by Vulcan Foundry (5547 / 1947). Named “Sir William Gray”. An Ardsley, Low Moor, Copley Hill, Mirfield and York engine w/d May 1967 and cut up at Draper’s, Hull. A fine smokebox in totally ex-loco condition, one of the last B1 survivors.
425 Carriage Panel Diagram “Metropolitan Line”. Shows the route from Watford and Uxbridge to Aldgate with connecting tube routes. A central fold and a little staining to the lower edge. In an original type glazed frame.
426 South African Railways Bi-lingual cast aluminium Locomotive Cabside Numberplate “SAR / SAS 3285 23”. Ex-loco condition as carried by the Class 23 4-8-2 built by Henschel (24239 of 1939).
427 Original Oil Painting by the eminent railway artist Philip Hawkins depicting an ex-LSWR T9 Class 4-4-0 No. 30711 on a local West Country mixed train pausing at Halwill Junction. Oil on artboard and framed 15.5×13.5in. o/all.
428 North Eastern Railway Tail Lamp with copper plate “Exrs. Stanhope NER No. 1” and brass “NER” plate. Complete with “NER” plated vessel, “NER” burner and red bullseye lens. A location on the Wearhead branch.
429 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “86A” (Cardiff (Canton) then Hereford). Face restored only.
430 Oval cast iron Locomotive Worksplate “Built 1957 Horwich”. Restored. 10.5x6in. Painted on the back is “X76089” a Standard Class 2-6-0.
431 Great Eastern Railway leather Detonators Case complete with original nickel silver “GER” badge and leather handle. V.g.c.
432 Midland Railway Platform Lamp. The copper lamp top is from Basford station, Nottingham and is complete with all glazing and approx. 40in. tall. The ornate cast iron post has a makers mark “George Smith Co. Sun Foundry Glasgow & Clippens Ltd.” and is lacking one original ladder bar. It is 8 feet tall complete with frog and is bolted through the base plate directly into a concrete pad. i.e. none of the post is below ground. A handsome assembly. Buyer to collect from Nottingham.
433 “Great North of Scotland Railway” fully titled 1909 enamel Trespass Notice by the Falkirk Iron Co. Restoration to edges and chips but very presentable. 24x18in.
434 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “66B” (Motherwell). Face painted only a while ago.
435 “Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries Ltd” titled cast iron ‘Rights of Way’ Notice. Nicely restored 14.75x7in.
436 LNER 4 aspect Handlamp brass plated “London & North Eastern Railway Moulton M&GN”. Complete with all fittings and glasses (orange is damaged). Restored. A station between Spalding and Sutton Bridge closed in 1959.
437 Large Webb & Thompson Single Line Staff. The end plates “Inniskeen” and “Dundalk”. Good ex-service condition.
438 Carriage Print “Deeping St. James, Lincolnshire” by Freda Marston from the LNER 1945 – 47 series. V.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame.
439 GN & GE Joint Railway cast iron Trespass Notice. Face restored only.
440 LNER cast iron Station Seatback Nameplate “Ryehill & Burstwick”. Face restored only. 55.75in. long. The former NER station was on the Hull – Withernsea branch and closed in Oct. 1964.
441 BR(LMR) double royal pictorial Poster “Nottingham” by Kerry Lee. Light folds only.
442 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “50D” (Starbeck then Goole). Face restored only.
443 Great Central Railway Appleton’s Patent 3 aspect Handlamp. The original lined paintwork lettered “ARM”. Complete with all fittings and glasses. Unrestored.
444 LNWR tiny china Milk / Cream Jug decorated with roses, bows and ribbons. Base marked “London & North Western Ry. Refreshment Dept.” around the figure of Britannia. 2in. tall, v.g.c. and delightful.
445 “London & North Eastern Railway (Filey Camp Branch) Plan & Sections 1945”. Large format including Ordnance Survey map of the area. This is the proposal for the Butlin’s Holiday Camp Station. Together with a copy Signal Box Diagram titled “Filey Holiday Camp”. 41in. long. (2).
446 A Flamecut Cabside Panel from the BR 0-6-0 DE Shunter “08722”. Complete with data panel and “GD Gateshead” depot label. All edges cleanly cut. 31.5×24.5in.
447 GWR 3 aspect ‘Reform’ Patent Handlamp complete with all plates, fittings and glasses and unrestored. A scarce pattern of lamp.
448 Cast iron ‘9×5’ Locomotive Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 63405 (brass strip) Darlington Works 1919”. Face restored. As carried by the Q6 0-8-0 shedded at Middlesbrough, Thornaby and Sunderland in BR days. It was w/d Dec. 1966 and cut up by Willoughby’s of Choppington. (Quite apt!).
449 Carriage Print “Sunderland, Co. Durham” by E.T. Holding from the LNER 1945 – 47 series. V.g.c. and in an original glazed frame.
450 “GWR 81” Policeman’s painted wooden Truncheon in fine original condition.
