301 A Lever Arch File containing a large quantity of mainly BR whole Edmundson Travel Tickets and including a few pre-nationalisation examples together with some station photos. Areas covered are Oxfords, Worces, SW England, Secondary & Branch Lines. Must be personally viewed.
302 As Previous Lot: South, Central, North Wales, Cheshire, Secondary and Branch Lines. Again must be viewed.
303 As Previous Lot: The Midlands, Peak District, Staffordshire, West Yorkshire. Again must be viewed.
304 Oval cast brass Locomotive Builder’s Plate “R&W Hawthorn Leslie & Co. Ltd. Engineers Newcastle on Tyne 3892 – 1936”. Restored. 13×8.5in.
305 “Great Western Railway Hotels” small china Milk / Cream Jug by Ashworth Bros. in the black leaf design. Full title and twin shields device to the face. V.g.c. 2.8in. tall.
306 “LMS & GW Joint Railways Private Road / Bridge Restriction” cast iron Notice (LNWR pattern). A scarce sign face restored only a while ago.
307 Midland Great Western Railway of Ireland 3 aspect Handlamp marked “MGWR” in the body. Complete with original “MGWR” vessel, all fittings and glasses. V.g.c. and unpainted.
308 GWR mahogany cased Signal Box Distant Signal Repeater Instrument with signal post, distant arm and “On / Wrong / Off” display. Brass “1” plate to base. Fine condition.
309 Pair of LNER pattern Loco Headlamps complete with all fittings and glasses. Restored.
310 “GNR 231” cast iron Bridge Numberplate from the East Coast Main Line near Stoke Tunnel.
311 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “35A” (New England). Face restored and mounted on a wooden display panel.
312 LNER, GNR pattern 3 aspect Handlamp brass plated “BR(E) Nottingham H.L.” Complete with all fittings and glasses. Unrestored. High Level station closed in 1967.
313 Carriage Print “Market Harborough, Leicestershire” by Frank Sherwin from the Midland Region series. V.g.c. and in an original glazed frame.
314 A Collection of Great Central Railway / early LNER official Photographs in a large leather bound album. Must be viewed.
315 Brass Single Line Key inscribed “Dalrymple Jcn – Waterside 6”. V.g.c. A section of the former G&SWR branch to Dalmellington closed in April 1964.
316 South Yorkshire Joint Railway cast iron Bridge Numberplate “S.Y.J.R 24”. Face restored only.
317 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “42145”. As carried by the Stanier 2-6-4T built at Derby in 1950. A Carstairs loco moving south to Leeds Holbeck in 1964. W/d from Low Moor in Sept 1967 and cut up at Cashmore’s, Great Bridge.
318 Cheshire Lines Committee wooden Sign with applied letters and pointing hand “To St Michael’s Station”. V.g.c. 55.75x14in. The station on the original Garstang & Liverpool Railway opened in 1864, closed in April 1972 and re-opened in Jan. 1978.
319 South Eastern Railway oval copper Medallion struck to commemorate the 50th year of the opening of the company and the 50th year of the reign of Queen Victoria. The reverse bearing the SER coat of arms and the head of E. Watkin Chairman is inscribed to “N.W. Gardner”. V.g.c. and scarce.
320 Enamel Advertising Sign “F.L. Mildred & Sons Ltd. Building Contractors, Plumbers, Decorators. Saffron Road, South Wigston. Phone 3452”. Minor chips only. 30x18in.
321 Cast brass Locomotive Cabside Numberplate “Walkers Limited 251 Queensland 1916”. As carried by ex-South Australian Railway ‘T’ Class 4-8-0. A lovely old plate face restored only.
322 North Eastern Railway 3 aspect Handlamp with wire handles and copper lens cone. Complete with all fittings and glasses. Restored.
323 Porlock Weir, Porlock & Minehead Motor Service Co. Ltd. Blue Motors Poster advertising daily motor service between Minehead and Porlock. Shows timetable, fares and an image of an old charabanc. Some losses and in a glazed frame 32×27.75in. o/all.
324 A Boundary Stone incised “WLERy. Boundary Line”. V.g.c. 14x9x3in. The West London Extension Rly. ran from Kensington to Clapham Jct. and was a Joint Line of the GWR, LNWR, LSWR and LBSCR. It retained identity under GWR, LMS & SR.
325 Cast aluminium Locomotive Worksplate “British Railways Derby Built 1965 Power Equipment by Associated Electrical Industries Ltd. and Sulzer”. Face restored only. As carried by a Class 25 in the number range 25171 – 215 (D7521 – 7565).
326 “GNR 8” cast iron Viaduct Numberplate. Unrestored.
327 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “65B” (St. Rollox). Restored many years ago.
328 “Annesley South Junction” rolled part coloured LNER Copy Signal Box Diagram dated 1927. Some edge tears. Together with a similar example later and undated. (2).
329 LNER double royal pictorial Poster “Cambridge” by Fred Taylor depicting Elizabethan architecture and figures of the period. Minor top edge nibbles and folds only.
330 SR Shipping small china Chamber Pot displaying the “Southern Ry” title scroll and company house flag on the face. V.g.c.
331 Cast aluminium Diesel Locomotive Nameplate “Railfreight” in v.g.c. Face restored and a fine ex-loco back. 31in. long.
332 “The Book of Station Totems” by Dave Brennand and Richard Furness. 212pp. and well-illustrated pubd. 2002. A very nice example of this book long out of print.
333 “Ballymena – Antrim” aluminium Single Line Tablet in v.g.c.
334 LNER, GNR pattern 3 aspect Handlamp brass plated “London & North Eastern Railway Doncaster Pas 158”. Complete with all fittings and glasses and restored.
335 BR(E) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Forncett”. Very minor scuffs only and with fine deep colour and shine. A former GER station between Ipswich and Norwich closed in Nov. 1966.
336 Cast iron ‘D’ Wagon Plate “LNER 10 Tons 1911 Cowlairs 711833”. Face restored only.
337 “65801” cast brass Strip from a ‘9×5’ LNER Works Numberplate. Ex-J27 Class 0-6-0 shedded at North Blyth and Sunderland. W/d 7/66 and cut up by Hughes Bolckow, N. Blyth.
338 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “16A” (Nottingham). Note on the back refers to it being carried by the ‘Jubilee’ Class 4-6-0 No. 45611 “Hong Kong”.
339 Caledonian Railway double sided enamel Trespass Notice with corner loss together with a Midland Railway enamel Fire Buckets Notice. Both for restoration. (2).
340 “Pyewipe West Sidings” wooden Signal Box Board with applied letters. Good condition 96×9.75in. The box was sited west of Lincoln. (See also lots 21, 87 and 410).
341 Miscellaneous china Plates: GNR Temperance Society, LNER (NBR) pattern, Great Northern (Ireland), South Eastern Railway and GNR. (5).
342 Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. Ltd.” brass and enamel Badge above a scroll titled “Empress Queen”. V.g.c.
343 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “62C” (Dunfermline). Face restored only.
344 LNER cast iron ‘9×5’ Locomotive Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 1946” with “61062” brass number strip. Face restored only. As carried by the B1 Class 4-6-0 built NBL Co. (25818 / 1946). A Neville Hill, Thornaby and York loco w/d August 1964 and cut up at Darlington.
345 BR(WR) double royal pictorial Poster “Weston-Super-Mare” by Harry Riley. Small tears across top edge, a light stain to top left corner and folds.
346 Great Northern Railway pewter Inkwell. Clearly inscribed “G.N.R” in an ornate cartouche. V.g.c.
347 Carriage Print “Finchingfield, Essex” by F. Donald Blake from the LNER 1945 – 55 series. V.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame.
348 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “46413”. Built at Crewe in 1947. A West Yorkshire engine mainly in BR days it was w/d from Ayr in Oct. 1965 and cut up by Campbell’s, Airdrie.
349 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “26F” (Lees Oldham then Patricroft). Face restored only.
350 LNER cast iron Weighbridge Notice in fine unrestored condition. This scarce pattern was recovered from Parkhead Goods Station near Stanhope, Co. Durham.
