Edinburgh & Glasgow Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. Body is stamped “E & G Ry. 245” and has a brass makers plate “P.W. McLennan Manufacturers Glasgow” with coat of arms. Complete with original McLennan brass plated vessel, all fittings and glasses and in ex-service green paint. Rare indeed the E & GR opened linking the two cities in Feb 1842. It amalgamated with the NBR in 1865. |

Newcastle & Darlington Junction Railway Wall Lamp of unusual sloping fronted form. Stamped “N&DJR” in the roof, the lamp features a reservoir feed via a rear tube with a wooden plug. A very early lamp indeed in v.g.c. complete with vessel, burner, glass chimney, back mounted reflector and all glazing. 27in. tall o/all. The N&DJR opened in June 1844 and was re-named the York & Newcastle Railway in 1846. |
