LMS cast brass Locomotive Nameplate “Lord Rutherford of Nelson”. As carried by the ‘Jubilee’ Class 4-6-0 No. 45665 built at Crewe Works in 1935. It was a long term resident of 67A Corkerhill shed and very elusive for us south of the border. It was w/d in Dec. 1962, stored at Lugton for over a year and cut up by Campbell’s, Shieldhall. A fine nameplate 46x8in. and one of only two double line ‘Jubilee’ plates. Face restored and polished only, the back showing clear signs of the positions of the supporting backplate. |
