265 | Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “50455” as carried by the ex-LYR Class 5P 4-6-0 introduced in 1908 and re-built in 1921. This was the last survivor of the ‘Dreadnoughts’ and the only Class member to carry a BR numberplate. Its last depot was Blackpool where it worked its last trip, a special to York and back. Withdrawal came in 1951. This very scarce smokebox plate is lightly restored with the paint cleaned from the numerals. (See next lot). | SOLD FOR £2900 |
