GWR cast iron Locomotive Cabside Numberplate “4686” as carried by ‘5700’ Class 0-6-0 Pannier Tank built at Swindon. A South Wales loco for much of its life it was transferred to the Southern Region at Nine Elms in Jan 1959. It was cut up at Ashford Works in Aug. 1959. The only member of this vast class of 860 locos to be scrapped there. The plate is in fine condition face restored only. |
