296 Early GNR Lorry Lamp. The chimney stamped “GNR”. A fine lamp of large proportions complete with bevelled glass side lens, rear bracket, original “GNR” marked vessel of unusual shape with rape oil burner and a large front cowl. The front lens is missing but this is a very rare lamp indeed in v.g.c. 307 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “75A” (Brighton). BR(S) Eastleigh triangle to the ex-loco back. Face restored a while ago.
297 Two cast brass Plates as carried by a BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0 Locomotive fitted with Caprotti vlave gear from the number series 73125 - 73154. Plate 1 “British - Caprotti Poppet Valve Gear Associated Locomotive Equipment Ltd. Locomotive Engineers. London Cambox Type 2CO / 1 No. 1068” 150x63mm. (6x2.5in): Plate 2 “Associated Locomotive Equipment Ltd. Locomotive Engineers London”. 150x38mm. (6x1.5in). Both lightly cleaned only. (2) 308 “LMS Hotels” white China. All are top marked in gold with the title within a laurel wreath. All are additionally marked “LM&S Hotels” on the base: Five coffee cups by Cauldon (very good to fair) and three side plates by different makers (good cond.) (8)
298 Carriage Print “Richmond, Yorkshire” by Jack Merriott from the E.R. 1948 -55 series. A fine view of the lofty castle above the steep streets from Richmond Green. Light creasing to bottom margin otherwise v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame. 309 Port Talbot Railway & Dock Company large 24mm. brass “PTR&D” script initials Button in v.g.c. (F154/13).
299 LMS Dray Horse leather Bridle complete with all straps, buckles, blinkers and a red brow band usually associated with ‘town’ horses particularly in London. The bridle has two “LMS” blinker brasses (Hawthorne ref. 89) and two rosette “LMS” brasses (H83 and H85). v.g.c. 310 District Railway large 25mm. nickel Police Issue Button. The back has no maker but a black Japanned finish. (F38/13).
300 Lancashire & Yorkshire Rly. Signal Box Hanging Lamp. The brass vessel complete with Duplex burner has a brass label “Gannow Jct”. A location east of Burnley & junction for the line to Todmorden. v.g.c. and complete with its metal hanging hoop. 311 “British Transport Advertising” aluminium Poster Board Header. Some discolouration but unusual. 762mm(30in)long
301 An uncarried cast brass Fox from a LNER D49 ‘Hunt’ Class Locomotive Nameplate. The fox is facing right and is a very well finished and polished casting. 480mm. (19in) long. 312 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “82C” (Swindon). Unrestored. The back seems to have a scratched number of a ‘County’ Class Loco but it is not too clear. “1006” perhaps?
302 “GCR C. 644” oval cast brass Crane Plate. 106x65mm. (4x2.5in). 313 LNER wooden Cigar Cabinet. The hinged lid nicely incised on top and inside “LNER Cigar Cabinet”. Access is via a clasp fastener to a five compartmented interior with labels and prices for the various cigars (none of which of course are included!) A very nice item in v.g.c. 297x260x50mm. (11.7x10x2in).
303 Two Telegraph Code Books: LMSR 95pp. Dec 1924 and Railway Clearing House 16pp. July 1939. Good used condition and a wealth of info. How many of you knew that “Macaw” was the code word for a single timber truck? 314 Two nickel and enamel Lion over Wheel “Porter” Cap Badges. An Eastern Region example in v.g.c. and a Midland Region example with some enamel loss around “T”. (2)
304 “LNER 3” oval cast iron Points Turn Out Plate. This is a GNR pattern plate and is scarcer than its predecessor. Restored. 315 Rectangular cast aluminium Locomotive Builders Plate “British Railways Doncaster 1965 Electrical Equipment by Associated Electrical Industries & The English Electric Co. Ltd”. As carried by Class AL6 Bo-Bo OHWE Loco No. E3117 later Class 86/2 No. 86227 named “Sir Henry Johnson” at Euston in March 1981. He was BR(LMR) General Manager later BR Board Chairman. The plate is face restored only with a service score across the bottom line. “86227” stamped in the ex-loco back. 216x146mm. (8.5x5.75in).
305 Rectangular cast iron Crane Plate “Not to lift more than 30 cwt”. Unrestored. Possibly LNWR. 316 Three different “Midland Ry. Ambulance Corps” Sleeve Badges: Enamel and gilt; nickel with red enamelled cross; plain nickel, together with a “MR” block initials nickel cap badge. (4).
