The timetable is in the form of a 4-4-0 Loco bearing “Great Central Railway” banner and a scroll “Sheffield to London (Marylebone) in 3 hours without a stop dept. 8.50am”. The reverse of the card bears the same images but the timetable is for return trains from London. Small edge tear and losses otherwise v.g.c. and a huge rarity. 146mm. (5.75in) long. |

Oval brass Owners Plate with ornately engraved borders and lettered “Henry Callander Esq. of Prestonhall No. 3”. The back has original pale blue paintwork and lettering “Newbigging Kirkton Abington”. The only railway connection we can find is a Caledonian one. Newbigging on the Carstairs - Dolphinton branch & Abington between Carstairs and Beattock. A very interesting plate deserving of further investigation. Unrestored. 229x150mm. (9x6in). |
