256 SR official Staybright Steel Ashtray titled “Southern Railway Southampton Dock Centenary 1838 - 1938” around an embossed facsimile of the original Southampton Dock Company seal. v.g.c. 267 “London Midland & Scottish Railway Company” large two handled silver plated Sugar Bowl by Walker & Hall. The full title in a roundel with heraldic devices crisply marked on the face. Superb order throughout.
257 “L&Y & L&NWRlys Huddersfield” silver plated Hors D’Ouvres / Fish Fork by Elkington. Beautifully top marked with the title in a belted garter. v.g.c. A gem. 268 “LYR Station Master” brass Cap Badge in v.g.c.
258 Untitled cast iron Bridge Numberplate “16”. An early style plate with concaved corners. Emanated from Cumbria but company unknown. Maryport & Carlisle perhaps? Unrestored 222x150mm. (8.75x6in). 269 A pair of Highland Railway cast iron Station Platform Bench Ends, incorporating script initials “HR”. They are handed correctly so the “HR” reads the right way round on both ends. Three wooden slats and a tie rod are required to complete to the length of your choice. The ends are 440mm. tall x 383mm. wide. (17.3x15in) and are unrestored. Very rare as these have never been seen before.
259 Cased pair of hallmarked silver and bronze Medals as produced for the 1825-1975 Stockton and Darlington Railway Anniversary. Both medals bear the head of George Stephenson with inscription and the reverse have images of ‘Rocket’ and a BR High Speed Train. These are beautifully crafted medals by Nordon Art Company and are numbered 207. 1000 sets were struck and are rarely offered now. 270 BR(M) enamel mini - totem Notice Board Header in the reverse colours of maroon on white. Very minor re-touched chips only. Mounted onto a wooden backing. 413mm. long. (16.25in).
260 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “8B” (Warrington). The previous number ground off and the “8” has been fashioned from weld. Unrestored. Not pretty but definitely genuine! 271 “The Westinghouse Continuous Brake Company” official illustrated Reference Book of 31pp. dated 1878. Contains superb ink drawings of component parts and fold out diagrams of a 2-4-0 loco and four wheel carriages fitted with the brake apparatus. The book was originally sent to A. Scott, General Manager of the LSWR on the 14th. Aug. 1878 and a copy of the letter from Westinghouse accompanies the lot. A fine item with the company title gold embossed in script to front cover.
261 Two folding card Menus / Wine Lists for “The Royal Scot” and “Capital United Express” the stylish Artwork to the covers reflecting the late 50’s / early 60’s period. v.g.c. (2) 272 Oval cast aluminium Locomotive Builders Plate “Built 1953 Swindon” as carried by BR Standard Class 4 4-6-0 Loco No. 75049. A Bank Hall loco nearly all its life, it was withdrawn from Aintree in Oct. 1966 and cut up by Drapers, Hull in March 1967. The plate is face restored only. 267x153mm. (10.5x6in).
262 Original cast aluminium Road Sign “Road Junction”. 5 reflective beads intact, 4 are missing. v.g.c. Face restored only. Fine original back and edges. 273 Carriage Print “Lichfield, Staffordshire” by Claude Buckle from the 1950 London Midland Region Series. v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame.
263 Original London & North Western Railway coat of arms Transfer as carried on the company’s coaching stock. Nicely mounted onto a painted wooden panel. 320x295mm. (12.5x11.6in). 274 A model locomotive curved cast brass Nameplate “Princess Margaret Rose” with serif style lettering. 652mm. long (25.6in), so approx. half full size. Unpolished.
264 Aylesbury Joint Station large 25.5mm. brass “A.J.S” Button in v.g.c.. (F47/3). This station was GW & GC Joint and Met & GC Joint. 275 LNER small silver plated Sorbet Dish by Walker & Hall. An unusual tapered shape on a disc foot and nicely face marked with the “LNER” script initials. v.g.c. and most unusual. Only 57mm. (2.25in) tall.
265 Metropolitan & Great Central Rly. large 26mm. brass “M&GCR” script initials Button in v.g.c. (F44/7). 276 BR(W) brass and enamel “Inspector” Lion over Wheel Cap Badge in v.g.c.
266 “LD & ECR” large rope script initials (23mm) nickel Button (F3/14). Minor dent otherwise v.g.c. Back marked “Chamberlin Sons & Co. Harrison & Smith”. The Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway opened in Dec. 1896 & absorbed into the GCR in 1906. A scarce button.
