214 “L&NWR Refreshment Rooms London Rd. Station Manchester” small part fluted glass Tumbler. Superbly face etched with the company initials on an angled scroll within an encircling title band. v.g.c. except for one extremely tiny rim nick. Exquisite. 91mm. (3.6in) tall. 225 “LNER Great Eastern Amateur Athletic Assn.” hallmarked silver and enamel Medallion. Full title around the LNER ‘Forward’ shield. Reverse depicts a cricketer on a copper central boss. v.g.c.
215 “LMS Hotels” Sherry Glass. The title nicely face etched in a vertical frosted panel. v.g.c. 100mm. (4in) tall. 226 Original Bradford City Transport Coat of Arms. This is the small version also used on the carriages of the Nidd Valley Railway. Nicely mounted onto a polished wooden shield. 302x237mm. overall (12x9.3in).
216 LNER ‘Coronation’ silver plated Mustard Pot Holder by Walker & Hall. Octagonal form with a stepped base. Very nicely face marked with the “LNER” device associated with this famous ‘A4’ hauled streamlined train. Lacking blue glass liner but v.g.c. 227 “GW & L&NW Jt. Rys.” cast iron Gate Notice. Face restored only. A popular sign with different letter styles.
217 2 leather bound Director’s Pocket Diaries with gold embossed coats of arms and dates to covers. A particularly fine Glasgow & South Western Railway for 1912 with original metal pencil to spine and a LM&SR 1925-1926 example with gilt edged pages. v.g.c. (2) 228 Cast iron Plate “Midland” ex-Winnington Signal Box. A location where the Furness & Midland Joint Line joined the Midland Line to Lancaster. Possibly some kind of ‘boundary’ tablet? Face restored. 165x77mm. (6.5x3in).
218 Midland Railway 12” (300mm) roundhead Wall Clock. The fusee movement is held between ‘A’ shaped brass plates which are spaced via stout turned brass pillars. The re-written dial reads “Midland Railway” in correct style. A fine mahogany case incorporates two side doors and exhibits two pin holes where the “LMS” plate was originally fixed and the dial is within a moulded mahogany surround. A lovely clock in working order complete with pendulum and key. 229 Edmondson Card Tickets: “Furness Railway one bicycle Ulverston to - - - “ and “L&MSR handcart at Ulverston”. Both v.g.c. and unissued. Together with a “Furness Railway Reserved” carriage window label in v.g.c. (3).
219 LNER Thompson brass Locomotive Whistle complete with wheel valve. Fitted to the Designers B1 Class 4-6-0 Locos and others. v.g.c. and totally unrestored. 230 Brecon & Merthyr Rly brass Cap Badge featuring the initials “B&MR” which is the early pattern worn by staff. The later style had no ampersand. Very good condition and scarce.
220 Cast brass Makers Plate “Sentinel” as carried by a steam lorry manufactured by this company. Ex-vehicle condition 317x78mm. (12.5x3in). 231 Oval etched stainless steel Locomotive Builders Plate “Clyde General Motors - Electro Motive Power Equipment Model No. M.L - 1 Serial No. 1” and incorporating a phoenix rising from flames. A pattern of plate fitted to South African Electric Locos. This plate is an uncarried presentation piece. 348x194mm. (13.7x7.6in).
221 Carriage Print “Aberfeldy, Perthshire” by Jack Merriott from the LNER 1945 - 47 series. v.g.c. In an orig. type glazed frame. 232 NER 3 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “NER” and “DEW” in outlined panels which are repeated on the original vessel. “NER” brass oval to base. Complete with copper lens cone, very unusual screw in brass and asbestos burner, reflector and all glasses (blue cracked). Top painted, base stripped to bare metal.
222 Linley 3 aspect lever operated Handlamp. Oval plate to top embossed “Linley Engineering Co. Ltd. Patentees & Manufacturers Birmingham England”. Complete with original vessel with twin tube rape burner, all glasses and fully working mechanism. Restored. 233 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “62C” (Dunfermline). Face restored only.
223 North Eastern Rly. untitled cast iron Sign “Keep this gate shut”. Used on the Richmond Branch. Ex gate condition. 785mm. (31in) long. 234 “Bristol Joint Station” large 25mm. gilt gothic initials, Kings crown and wreath Button as issued to senior staff. Superb example. (F47/9).
224 Webb & Thompson large Single Line Staff as used at a signal training school. Cast brass “A” plate to end but the “B” plate is missing. Original condition with remains of red paint.
