90 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “5D” (Stoke on Trent). A LMS style code with an extra pair of holes drilled inside the usual pair. Label at rear states “Stoke D.M.U.” so perhaps transferred to one of these vehicles following steam loco use. Face rest. only with a sooty back. 98 LNER silver plated ‘Coronation’ Gravy Boat by Walker & Hall. Very nicely face marked with the “LNER” device associated with this famous ‘A4’ hauled streamlined train. Usual service wear inside. v.g.c.
91 “GNR 43” double bordered oval cast iron Bridge Numberplate. Face restored. 99 “Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Transport Service” enamel and brass First World War Service Lapel Badge. Low staff number “75”. Light scuffing to centre.
92 Cast brass Equipment Makers Plate “The Power Plant Co. Ltd. West Drayton, Middlesex. Steam turbine gear type TG 16/9. 300bhp. 6000 to 1000rpm. S.O.No. 18130. Date 24.3.25”. An attractive plate with stippled background. Unrestored with original pale blue service paintwork to edges. 202x126mm. (8x6in). 100 Hornby ‘0’ Gauge 1930’s Clockwork 4-4-2 Locomotive and Tender “Flying Scotsman” in LNER apple green livery. A particularly good example in fine original condition complete with headlamps and in full working order.
93 LNER Painting Contracts for exterior cleaning and painting of the following company hotels: Great Eastern Liverpool Street; Great Northern, Leeds; Royal Station, Hull; Grand, West Hartlepool; Royal Station, York. All v.g.c. (5) 101 Hornby ‘0’ Gauge three bogie Pullman Coaches in chocolate and cream livery. The coaches date from the 1930’s and are named “Loraine”, “Iolanthe” and “Verona” (brake end). A very nice rake in fine original condition complete with all doors, connecting pieces and good celluloid window backings printed with table lamps. (3).
94 LMS Menu, Toast List and Programme of Music for the banquet to commemorate the centenary of the London & Birmingham Railway at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London 14th Nov. 1938. L&BR Loco No. 1 and LMS streamlined loco no. 6225 to front cover. Original silk cord tie. A tad grubby but scarce. 102 A rare and important collection of Ephemera relating to the royal opening of the Mersey Tunnel 20th January 1886. An embossed and highly decorated gilt Menu Card for the Banquet to Commemorate the Visit of the Prince and Princess of Wales, verso printed with the menu (150x110mm), together with a card printed by Yates & Hess L’pool in gold with decoration and listing toasts, verso with railway company coat of arms (150x110mm), a further card printed in red for the Timetable Arrangements of the Opening of the Mersey Railway by their Royal Highnesses 20th January 1886; & 3 designs in watercolour & gouache for gold & jewelled cane, tie pins & brooches decorated to show the Mersey Tunnel (known as the Memorial Jewel in arrangements & presented to their Royal Highnesses) the larger card (170x115mm) with the orig. envelope. 95 Belfast and County Down Railway cast metal Loco. Tankside Numberplate “BCDR 7” as carried by a 2-4-2 Tank Loco built by Beyer Peacock in 1896 (Works No. 3853). a 5’-3” gauge Type 8 Class 5 Loco, one of only six in the class. It became Ulster Transport Authority No. 7 in 1948 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1949 and sold for scrap. The locos were employed on Belfast - Holywood and Belfast - Dundonald Suburban Services. Nos. 5,7 & 27 survived to the formation of the U.T.A. but the other class members nos. 8,28 & 29 (all built in 1897) were withdrawn in 1925, 1937 & 1923 respectively. Originally the locos had oval brass numberplates but were changed to the style we have here about 1920. This plate despite having a vertical central crack is in lovely ex-loco condition and a great rarity as many BCDR plates were replaced with U.T.A. cast aluminium examples. 383x252mm. (15x10in). We sold the plate from sister loco no. 5 in our July 2009 auction. 103 “L&NWR Co. 61” oval cast iron Bridge Numberplate from Llandrindod Wells on the Central Wales Line. Face restored only a while ago.
96 Oval cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “55H” (Leeds Neville Hill). Face restored only. 104 NER blue etched Platform Lamp Glass “Ottringham” in v.g.c. A station on the former Hull to Withernsea branch opened in June 1854 and closed in Oct. 1964.
97 Oval cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “1F” (Rugby). Face restored only. 105 LBSCR small Oilcan. Company initials on a brass plate to face. Pump action type and rather nice. 240mm. long. (9.5in).
