21 Bute Docks” large 23mm. brass loco & coronet Button in v.g.c. (Frog. 23/10). Formed in 1886 the Bute Docks title was changed to the Cardiff Railway in 1897. 33 “Hunslet” cast brass Diesel Locomotive Radiator Plate. Original condition. 432mm. long. (17in).
22 Midland Railway engraved brass Signalling Instrument Plate “Strines”. Polished but quite legible. A GC&Mid Line location east of Stockport. 34 “Railway Horse Brasses” by Ran Hawthorne. 48pp. Published in 1987 by the National Horse Brass Society. A nice copy signed by the author. The definitive work on this popular subject.
23 GWR Rip Saw from Swindon Works. The wooden handle is deeply branded “GWR” both sides and is also marked “Boiler Hse”. The handle also has an inset brass disc displaying the Victorian coat of arms and “Warranted Superior”. v.g.c. 770mm. long. (30in). 35 LNER “Rambles” series official Booklets. “Chilterns”, “Epping Forest” and two “Essex” with different covers. Fairly good cond. in the main. (4)
24 Highland Railway iron four branch Frog for a platform lamp. v.g.c. 36 GWR mahogany Office Desk Tidy. Two stepped levels with a pin scoop, three circular apertures for ink pots etc. and two notched brass arms providing a rack for six pens and / or pencils. The end deeply stamped “GWR”. 292x150mm. (11.5x6in).
25 BR(Sc) light blue enamel and nickel “Porter” fishtail Cap Badge by Fattorini & Sons Ltd. v.g.c. 37 GWR Supplement to Working Service Time Tables June 1st to July 8th. 1923. 62pp. Covering mainly Midlands & former Cambrian Lines. v.g. used condition.
26 Painted wooden Signal Box Board “Guisborough Junction”. Very good original condition. A former NER box just east of Middlesbrough. 1270x293mm. (50x 11.5 in). 38 Southern Rly. silver plated Sugar Tongs by Mappin & Webb. A fine pair crisply top marked “SR” in intertwined script.
27 “GWR Workmen’s Club 6d”. Circular brass Canteen Token. v.g.c. 39 North Eastern Rly Station Platform Lamp Case with original blue etched name glass “Saltmarshe” (couple of cracks) 590mm. (23.2in) tall. In good order & restored but the cap is slightly loose. A station east of Goole opened in Aug. 1869.
28 Oval cast brass Locomotive Cabside Numberplate “52” as carried by an 0-6-0 ST. built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns (7004 of 1940) to an earlier Kitson design. The loco worked at Stewarts & Lloyds, Corby Quarries and went to George Cohens of Cransley for scrap in Dec. 1969. Face restored and lightly polished only. 332x216mm. (13x8.5in). Loco info accompanies the lot. 40 Oval cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “12A” (Carlisle Kingmoor). Face restored only.
29 LNER 3 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “LNER” and brass plated “London & North Eastern Railway Whittlesea”. Complete with “LNER” vessel, “LNE” burner, reflector & all glasses. vgc.Restored. A former GER station on the Peterborough - March line. 41 Three “LMS Hotels” white china Plates. Each top marked with the title in gold Art Deco style and all are by Newhall Pottery of Hanley. Two are 190mm. dia. (7.5in) and the other 217mm. dia. (8.5in). g.c. throughout. Uncommon. (3)
30 GNR mahogany cased Signal Box Block Bell with underslung bell. A fine instrument in lovely condition from the Havenhouse box on the Skegness branch. 42 LNWR official Invitation Card issued by the Chairman & Directors of the company inviting Mr. Saml. Jones to a dinner at the Locomotive Offices, Crewe on 21st. April 1913 on the occassion of the visit of their Majesties the King and Queen to the company’s locomotive works. Art Nouveau style border incorporating two locomotives and the LNWR coat of arms. Very good condition and presented in a period glazed oak frame with gilt slip. 296x252mm. (11.6x10in).
31 Carriage Print “Loch Lomond” by Frank H. Mason from the LNER 1945-47 Series”. v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame. 43 LYR engraved brass Signalling Instrument Plate “Cooper House Sdg”. Slightly polished. 126mm. long. (5in)
32 “L&NER N” Horse Harness Decoration Brass. The small ‘N’ refering to ex-GNR area. (Hawthorne Ref. No. 102). The usual back sprigs have been replaced with a captive threaded stud with nut and washer. 44 Railway Clearing House official Railway Map of the East of England. A fine map in v.g.c. folding into gold embossed leather covers. Inside stamped “Furness Railway General Manager’s office 13th. April 1912”. Minor wear only.
