1 “LYR Foreman” brass Cap Badge in v.g.c. 11 Great Northern Railway Staff Overcoat. A substantial coat in v.g.c. Complete with “GNR” large brass script buttons (Froggatt ref. 3/15). Five of the 6 front buttons are present together with both epaulette buttons and two to the rear belt. The missing front button being easy to replace. The coat has been expertly modelled by your auctioneer’s brother Trevor!
2 LNER silver plated “Coronation” Asparagus Dish by Walker & Hall. Very nicely face marked with the “LNER” device associated with this famous ‘A4’ Pacific hauled streamlined train. v.g.c. 12 Longmoor Military Railway cast iron Wagon Registration Plate “Registered by the LMR 1942 Standard 14 tons 160843”. This was a tank wagon built to lot 3143. v.g.c. and face restored only. Scarce.
3 Rectangular cast aluminium Locomotive Builders Plate “British Railways Crewe built 1961 Power Equipment by Sulzer and Crompton Parkinson Ltd”. As carried by BR 2500HP 1Co-C01 Type 4 diesel electric loco. no. D97 into traffic April 1961. Renumbered Class 45 no. 45058. Lightly face restored only. Superb ex-loco back. 330x165mm. (13x6.5in). 13 Furness Railway enamel ‘Gate’ Notice. “FR Warning gates must not be opened until it has been ascertained that the line is clear in both directions”. 1 largish chip plus corner chips. The colour being pretty good.
4 GNR 3 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “GNR 18307” & date coded for May 1913. Body stamped “GNR 13709” and brass plated “Great Northern Railway Company Peterborough Gd. 9”. Complete with integral vessel, screw in burner, reflector and all glasses. Restored. A fine lamp. 14 BR Western Region wooden backed Clothes Brush. The initials “BR(W)” nicely picked out in contrasting bristles. Good condition and scarcer than the GWR examples. 362mm. long (14.25in).
5 Carriage Print “Fort Augustus, Inverness-shire” by Henry Rushbury from the LNER 1945-47 series. v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame. 15 Quaker Oats oak Advertising Chair incorporating a fine pictorial enamel sign to the back panel “Quaker Oats 3 1/2d. pkt” with a pictorial of a quaker gentleman to the centre. v.g.c. throughout.
6 GWR pre-grouping Pocket Watch by Rotherhams of London. The dial lettered “GWR” is in fine condition and incorporates an inset ‘seconds’ dial. The rear case is nicely engraved “GWR 1490” with shaded serifed characters. v.g.c. and working order. 16 GWR Clock from the dashboard of one of the company’s lorries or charabancs. The original dial displays the Smiths trade mark below a small “GWR” roundel device. One small edge abrasion to the bevelled glass face otherwise very good original condition. A scarce item indeed.
7 BR(M) coloured Signal Box Diagram “Hinckley Station” on rolled laminated paper. Incorporates a gradient diagram and details the track and signals at this location between Nuneaton Midland Jc. and Croft Sdgs. v.g.c. 940x445(37x17.5in). 17 Lancashire & Yorkshire and London & North Western Joint Railways glass Water Carafe as used on the companies Anglo-Irish Steam Ship Services. Nicely face etched “L&Y & L&NW Ry Cos” in a circular belted garter around a shamrock. v.g.c. and scarce. 175mm. tall. (7in).
8 Midland Railway Edmondson Card Third Class Single Ticket “Kings Cross to South Tottenham & Stamford Hill”. Ticket is in nice used condition and dated 1924. This Tottenham & Hampstead Joint Line Station was re-named South Tottenham in July 1903 so the original name was perpetuated long after this. 18 Circular cast iron Makers Plate from a boiler or steam roller headstock “Babcock & Wilcox Ltd. London & Renfrew 1945”. Incorporates the word “Steam” around a world globe to the centre with “Trade Mark” and “Registered in all countries”. Face painted only. 400mm. dia. (15.75in).
9 LMSR Edmondson Card Ticket “One Dog Morton Pinkney to any LM&SR station not more than 15 miles distant”. v.g.c. This former East & West Junction Rly. station closed in April 1952. 19 NER Oil Container. Embossed brass plate to top “Return to Stores Dept. Gateshead when empty”. Complete with original stopper 250mm. tall (9.8in).
10 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “55C” (Farnley Junction). Fine ex-loco condition incorporating original N.E. Region orange paintwork. 20 Hull & Barnsley Rly. & Dock Co. large 25mm. brass Button bearing “HBRD” ornate script initials. Pre - 1905 issue. (Frog. 5/12). v.g.c.
