345 Somerset Joint Committee large 23.5mm. brass “SJC” Button. This is the pre-grouping pattern as worn by staff on the S&DJR. (F45/5). v.g.c. 356 Oval cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “8L” (Aintree). Face restored only.
346 Lancashire Derbyshire & East Coast Rly. small 15.5mm. nickel “LD & ECR” script Button (F3 / 14). v.g.c. and scarce. This company opened in Dec. 1896 and was absorbed into the GCR in 1906. 357 BR(Sc) fully flanged enamel Station Sign “Ladies Waiting Room” with a directional arrow which makes it more unusual. One small chip to ‘D’, edge chipping to bottom right corner and a bump to top right corner. Superb colour and shine. 610x457mm. (24x18in).
347 Great Eastern Rly. 3 aspect sliding knob Handlamp. Top stamped “GER Trowse 103” and the body date coded for 1920. Re-fitted in service with a GNR top handle which has a metal plate “A. Fergusson” and has a chain with brass “136” disc attached (probably a paycheck). Complete with “LNE-E” vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. Unrestored. A Norwich location. 358 North Eastern Railway barrel shaped nickel Guards Whistle with an elongated finial with ring attachment. Very nicely incised “N.E.R.” A scarce style for this company. Very good condition and working order.
348 LNER card Platform Tickets: “Saltburn, Scarborough, Middlesbrough, Darlington” and a thinner example “Sheffield Victoria”. g.c. An uncommon selection. (5) 359 Cast brass City of Leeds Coat of Arms as used by John Fowler & Sons for fitting to their showmans traction engines mainly. The normal location for these crests were to the belly water tanks suspended beneath the loco boiler. A superb item lightly face polished only. 244x250mm. o/all (9.6x9.8in).
349 Midland Railway metal Can / Churn with a swing handle with wooden roller. Brass plate to body “MR Co. 20”. Oval metal makers plate to top “Howis & Burley C & M Birmingham 1917”. Polished ornate brass tap with original unique key also stamped “MR”. Hinged cap with clasp fastener and small brass padlock. A lovely item in v.g.c. 370mm. (14.5in) tall. 360 Four circular pictorial Luggage Labels: “British Railways the Northumbrian Newcastle Central”; ditto “York”; “British Railways Royal Mail Route Harwich - Hook of Holland Day Service”; ditto but fully titled LNER for the “Nightly Service”. v.g.c. (4).
350 Great Northern Railway Handbell from Drighlington & Adwalton station nicely incised with the company initials with black painted infill. A very fine bell with a turned wooden handle and complete with clapper. D & A station south east of Bradford on the Dudley Hill - Dewsbury Line closed in June 1961. 361 GNR official Publication “Programme of Tourist & Weekend Arrangements Winter Season 1903 04” 34pp. of mainly timetables and notices. Good condition but the staples have rusted away. Foolscap size.
351 LYR large Luggage Label “Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Luggage in Advance from _____ to _______ Menai Straits, via Liverpool & North Wales S.S. Co.” Good condition. 139x88mm. (5.5x3.5in). 362 GNR official folding card Publication “List of Agricultural Shows 1898”. Also includes adverts for the company trains and services. v.g.c. and scarce.
352 “L&YR Co Meols Cop 2” circular brass Paycheck. v.g.c. and scarce. 363 “Great Western Railway” cast iron Signal Box Door Notice “No unauthorised person is allowed in this box by order”. This is the scarcer pattern including the word “is”. From a Taunton signal box.
353 “L&YR Co. Southport Booking Office 262” circular brass Paycheck. v.g.c. and scarce. 364 “North British Station Hotel Edinburgh” silver plated Teapot by Martin Hall & Co. Ltd. Sheffield. The full title on a roundel garter with LNER “Forward” coat of arms to the centre. The whole polished but very legible. An elegant shaped teapot in very good condition and a scarce piece from this hotel.
354 “L&YR Co. Southport Fork Shops 1027” circular brass Paycheck. v.g.c. and very scarce. 365 Carriage Print “Crowland, Lincolnshire” by Kenneth Steele from the 1948-55 series. Damp areas to margins and slightly faded but it is in an original LNER ivory Crommoid glazed frame.
355 “L.N.E.R. Fireman Fire Brigade” enamel Armband. Lacking straps but very good condition. 366 “Ian Allan Loco spotters Club” chrome and brown enamel Western Region Lapel Badge in excellent condition.
