261 Mahogany framed Edwardian glazed Display Cabinet with glass to top, front and sides. Hinged mahogany mirror backed flap with brass ring handled latches gives access to the interior which has three original mahogany framed removable trays topped with blue velvet ( a little worn in places). Ivorine label inside shows that the cabinet was professionally made by “Potter & Sons Shop Fitters of London”. A superb old cabinet in ex-shop condition, perfect for the display of buttons, badges & a host of other railway smalls.912x607x205mm.(36x24x8in) o/all. 271 GWR Sports & Education Union hallmarked silver Medallion embossed “GWR S & EU” and inscribed “Arts and Crafts 1936 E.A. Timbrell”. Ornate shield shape in v.g.c. and in its original presentation case.
262 BR(M) LMS pattern Locomotive Headlamp. Embossed “BR(M)” on chimney. Complete with original vessel and burner assembly. Lacks red shade but v.g.c. and nicely restored. 272 Midland Rly Dining Cars silver plated Tea / Coffee Spoon in Cavendish plate by Butler, Sheffield. Top crisply marked “Midland Cars” in a belted garter. Superb order.
263 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “86A” (Newport Ebbw Junction then Cardiff Canton). Face restored only. 273 “Great Western Railway Hotels” silver plated Tea / Coffee Spoon by Mappin & Webb. Crisply top marked with the full title scroll and twin shields device. Superb order.
264 GNR official Publication “Holiday Manual Season 1913”. 108pp. including nice colour plates. Left edge of front cover is torn and small corner loss to rear cover. Contents clean and tight. 274 Southern Railway double sided enamel Platform Sign “Waiting & Ladies Rooms”. In its original wooden frame with scrolled iron wall bracket. v.g.c. throughout.
265 GNR Official Publication “A Holiday in London”. 32pp. In attractive covers. Title page has an edge tear and small area of loss near spine, otherwise v.g.c. Contents clean and tight. Scarce. 275 “LNER No. 650 Porter” enamel Armband with the company initials in an eye shape. v.g.c. with no chips and complete with very good straps.
266 “Hotels LMS” silver plated ‘Lincoln’ pattern Sauce Ladle by Mappin & Webb. The title crisply marked vertically in a tapered panel to the handle. Superb cond. 276 “LMS Steamers” ribbed handled silver plated Butter Knife with a stainless steel blade by Elkington nicely impressed with the title in a laurel leaf surround. Superb condition.
267 Pullman Car Company brass Table Lamp from Car No. 64. A fine classical shape with acanthus leaf decoration to the base sweeping to a baluster stem with decorated capitol. The shade holder having a turned brass cap with acorn finial. The base clearly stamped “S.C. 64” has its original wooden sub-base with green beize under. A superb lamp complete with bulb holder. 525mm. tall (20.7in). 277 Midland Railway or very early LMS wooden Signal Box Nameboard with cast iron letters “Calverley & Rodley”. Some loss to top edge of wood otherwise good original condition. 2300x220mm. (90.5x8.6in). A former box on the Leeds to Skipton line. The station here closed in March 1965.
268 Turned wooden Signal Box Barge Board Finial in painted pitch pine. Ex-box condition with loss at base. May originate from a former NER signal box. 695mm. (27.3in) tall. 278 London & North Western Rly. mahogany Smokers Bow Chair. Clearly marked “LNWR” twice in the back edge of the seat. the seat board has had a very old railway service repair underneath to correct a split. Does not detract visually. A fine old chair and very comfy!
269 Carriage Print “Theft of the Crown Jewels by Colonel Blood 1671” by Winslade from the LMR ‘History’ series of 1955. Creases to margin. In an original type glazed frame. 279 Three small china Cream / Milk Jugs: “Gleneagles Hotel” with gold & black decoration. Base marked “LMS Hotels Cauldon England”; plain white base marked “LMS Hotels Newhall Hanley England”; plain with gold band. Base marked “Hotels BTC”. All v.g.c. and 65mm. tall (2.5in). (3).
270 BR(NE) orange enamel and nickel “British Railways” totem Cap Badge by Pinches. v.g.c. 280 A “Gleneagles Hotel” Dinner Plate and Sandwich Plate with gold and black decorated edge bands. Both with matching base mark “LMS Hotels Royal Cauldon England”. v.g.c. (2)
