Pair of finely crafted bronze Medals struck to commemorate the 1825 - 1925 railway centenary. Large 76mm. dia) and small (44mm. dia.) both bearing the portraits of Edward Pease & George Stephenson with the arms of Stockton and Darlington above the centenary dedication. Reverse faces show the figure of Vulcan holding “Locomotion No. 1” with a Gresley Pacific Loco behind. Both in their original boxes, the larger has split sides to the lid. |

Body stamped “LNER” and brass plated “L&NER South Box Grantham No. 1” (slightly lifting at one end). Complete with “LNER” vessel, “BR(E)” burner reflector and all glasses. One side clip is loose. v.g.c. and devoid of paint. |
