158 LNER Pen Nib Box. Original small marbled box with label intact printed “L&NER Pens No. M9747”. Excellent condition and complete with 28 nibs each marked “LNER M9747”. 169 Midland Railway “Parcel Porter” nickel Cap Badge in good condition complete with both sets of rear fixing sprigs.
159 Pair of finely crafted bronze Medals struck to commemorate the 1825 - 1925 railway centenary. Large 76mm. dia) and small (44mm. dia.) both bearing the portraits of Edward Pease & George Stephenson with the arms of Stockton and Darlington above the centenary dedication. Reverse faces show the figure of Vulcan holding “Locomotion No. 1” with a Gresley Pacific Loco behind. Both in their original boxes, the larger has split sides to the lid. 170 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Number Plate “90122”. As carried by WD Austerity 2-8-0 Loco. Formerly 77025. Withdrawn Oct 1965 and cut up by the Steelbreaking and Dismantling Co. Chesterfield one month later. A fine smokebox cast at Crewe Works. Virtually ex-loco, lightly cleaned only.
160 LNER 3 aspect GNR pattern Handlamp with a GNR top which is stamped “GNR 18944” and dated for April 1915. Body stamped “LNER” and brass plated “L&NER South Box Grantham No. 1” (slightly lifting at one end). Complete with “LNER” vessel, “BR(E)” burner reflector and all glasses. One side clip is loose. v.g.c. and devoid of paint. 171 LNER Police Uniform Miscellany: A full title and coat of arms 20mm. button; an eye logo initials 20mm. button and a shield crest & forward scroll collar badge / helmet plate centre. All in chrome finish & v.g.c.(3)
161 Pair of brass Carriage Ashtrays from the East Coast Joint Stock and GNR. Both very nicely face marked in script initials “ECJS” and “GNR”. v.g.c. (2). 172 Set of 12” Great North Eastern Railway” Wine Glasses all face marked with the full title and coat of arms garter crest. Each glass is in fine condition 174mm. tall (6.75in). They are housed in their original packing box. A splendid set for your next dinner party!
162 Carriage Print “London, River Thames (Kings Reach) by Frank Mason from the LNER 1945 - 47 Series. Damp stain to bottom left corner but in an original LNER brown Crommoid frame. 173 A superb “Great Western Railway Hotels” silver plated one pint Tankard by Elkington. Crisply face marked with the title scroll and twin shields device. Excellent condition.
163 LNER cast iron Doorplate “Coal House”. Unrestored and scarce. 174 GNR cast iron Signal Finial by McKenzie & Holland of Worcester. The base box embossed “McK & H Ltd. W G.N.R.” v.g.c. and nicely restored. 790mm. tall. (31in).
164 “LMS Traffic Dept. 291 Leeds City” octagonal embossed brass Paycheck. v.g.c. 175 LNER mahogany Art Deco style Mantle Clock with chiming mechanism. The original service 4.3in dial lettered “LNER 4195” and records show that the clock resided in room no. 276 at the Great Eastern Hotel, Liverpool Street. A classically shaped clock exuding the Art Deco style. Vendor states in working order but is unsure about the strike mechanism. Complete with pendulum and key.
165 “LNER Passenger Stn. Newark 242” oval brass Paycheck. v.g.c. 176 LNER silver plated Claret Bottle Holder with a decorative cut out design and a beaded undulating top edge. Stamped “LNER” in base. Attractive item 146mm. (5.75in) tall.
166 GNR official Publication “Holiday Manual official list of seaside & inland hotels etc. 1915”. 64pp. Covers with light creasing and tape repair to back. Contents including some nice colour plates clean & tight. 177 LSWR “32” rectangular cast iron Bridge Numberplate in good unrestored condition.
167 GNR official hardbacked Publication “Twixt Thames & Tweed” 208pp. plus advertisements circa 1910. Covers and spine slightly careworn, contents including fine colour plates clean and tight. 178 Carriage Print “London Tower Bridge” by John L. Baker from the 1948 - 55 series. One of only two prints by this artist. v.g.c. and in a glazed frame.
168 Scotrail double royal pictorial Poster “The Highland Lines Glencoe” with artwork by Brendan Neiland R.A. This is the third of six such posters in this auction. v.g.c. Rolled only and complete with an information sheet about the artist. 179 Leeds High Level Railway rectangular cast iron Viaduct Plate “LHL 24”. Totally unrestored blathered in years of old paint layers.
