111 Four miniature sculptured resin Coats of Arms applied onto oak shields with title mounts, by Heraldic Woodcarvers. GWR, SR, LMS and LNER examples. All superbly painted. Each shield is 200x183mm. (7.9x7.2in). A fine group. (4). 123 “GNR” cast iron Poster Board Letters mounted onto a painted wooden board. Restored. 355x168mm. (14.5x6.6in).
112 Highland Railway cast iron Platform Lamp Frog in v.g.c. We sold a similar item in our last sale. 124 Six Railway Convalescent Homes china Soup Plates by Myott & Co. in the maroon colourway. Each is top marked with the full title attractive multi-shield device. v.g.c. (6)
113 “LMS Dining Cars” folding card Lunch Menu and Wine List in connection with the Canadian Pacific Liner “Duchess of Atholl” 9/9/38. Lichfield Cathedral artwork by Norman Wilkinson to front cover. LMS system map and list of LMS hotels to back. Minor edge nicks and corner bumps only. 125 L&NWR fully titled cast iron Sign “Notice the Company’s Road not public”. Slight weathering to bottom rim otherwise fine unrestored condition. A small scarce sign.
114 London & South Western Rly. 4 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “L&SWR” under an “E” Eastleigh brass plate plus “124” brass plate. Body stamped “L&SWR 2689” and has brass “L&SWR Co.” plate. Complete with “L&SWR” vessel, “SR” burner, reflector and all glasses. Restored. 126 GNR Miscellany: ‘T’ handled steel carriage key, ticket clippers by Newey & Son, wooden handled paper bradawl, wooden change bowl. All items nicely marked or branded “GNR”. (4).
115 Old Padlock Key with brass plate attached stamped “Nostell Colliery Office”. A location near Wakefield. The station at Nostell was on the West Riding & Grimsby Joint Line. 127 David Macbrayne Ltd. Edmondson type Motor or Steamer Trip Tickets. Twelve all different incl. Fort William & Glenfinnian, Oban to Tiree, Lochgoilhead to Oban, Kyle to Mallaig, Lochgoilhead to top of Hell’s Glen, Kyles of Bute to Tarbert or Ardrishaig, Wirral Railway circle Mallaig to Kyle (R.M.S. Columba). Interesting colourful selection in v.g.c. (12).
116 “M.R.S.D. Makers Derby 1899” rectangular Midland Rly. Signal Makers Plate with its original screws! Unrestored 170x140mm. (6.7x5.5in). 128 LNER “Private” cast iron Doorplate. Face restored only a while ago.
117 Set of six GNR official ‘Castle Series’ Postcards: Brancepeth, Richmond, Bamborough, Alnwick, Raby and Barnard contained in their original GNR “Historic Castles” envelope. The cards are mint, the envelope good. Very Scarce. 129 Carriage Print “Thaxted, near Elsenham, Essex” by F.W. Baldwin from the 1948-55 Series. Small hole and a damp spot to top edge. In a glazed frame.
118 GNR official Publication “Holiday Resorts”. 24pp. Good condition and scarce. 130 “GNR 4019” brass Cap Badge. The initials & numerals on a separate plate with black leather backing within an oval belted garter surround. v.g.c.
119 A rare “LNER Hotels” Tolly Ales double ended ceramic Ashtray and central Match Box Holder manufactured by Royal Worcester and bearing patent details for 1927. “LNER Hotels” nicely lettered around one end. v.g.c. Together with a circular matching ‘Tolly’ ashtray by Royal Worcester but not marked “LNER”. v.g.c. (2). 131 “Great Central Railway Police” Helmet Plate. Full title on an oval belted garter around a worn coat of arms. One lug missing from back.
120 Trafolite Signal Instrument Plate “Nottingham Station East No. 4 Bell Circuit” together with five plastic plates from BR modular signal instruments “Nottingham Platform East” (2); “Nottingham Platform West” (2) and “Hotchley Hill”. All in very good condition. (6). 132 “5489” cast brass Strip from a ‘9x5’ locomotive works number plate. Originally GNR Class J22 0-6-0 Tender Loco No. 30. Becoming LNER Class J5 No. 3030 / 5489, then BR No. 65489. Built in July 1910 and w/d Dec. 1953. A class of only 20 locos.
121 LYR Locoman’s long all copper Oiler clearly stamped “L&YR Co. Blackburn”. An impressive locally produced piece of hardware. 780mm. (30.7in) long. 133 “G.C.R. 193 P.Way Barnetby” circular brass Paycheck in v.g.c.
