Cast iron Axle Box Cover from the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway. Face embossed “W&L Ry. Co. Ld. Patent Axle Box Wood’s Patent 1904”. Fine condition and bolted to an oak mount 253x204mm. (10x8in) o/all. This light railway was opened in April 1903 and worked by the Cambrian Rly. It was grouped into the GWR, then BR and of course still runs today. |
