The tender was originally attached to a NER Raven ‘S2’ Class 4-6-0 either 788, 791 or 797 all of which were w/d in late 1937. The tender was then allocated to ‘Q6’ 0-8-0 No. 1248 / 63341. |

Bishop’s Castle Railway 3 aspect Handlamp. The body has large painted letters “BCR” and an oval metal makers plate “Howes & Burley Ltd. C&M 1917 Birmingham”. Complete with original vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. Unrestored and a rare bird indeed. The BCR opened in Feb. 1866 and branched off the GW&LNW Joint Line north of Craven Arms to the Bishop’s Castle terminus. The line had six stations and closed in April 1935. |

Presentation Set of leather cased Drawing Instruments. Silver plate to lid reads “Presented to Mr. R. Thom by the employees in the Locomotive Dept. L.D. & E.C. Railway as a slight token of respect March 1906”. R.A. Thom was the last loco superintendant of the LD&ECR. He then moved to the GCR Gorton Works to be assistant to J.G. Robinson. Under the LNER Thom transferred to Doncaster Works ultimately to become Mechanical Engineer working closely with Gresley, and is photographed next to Gresley at the naming ceremony of A4 Pacific No. 4498. The instruments are a fine item with historical significance and are in v.g.c. throughout. Complete with data sheet detailing the career of R.A.Thom. |
