Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “61189” as carried by LNER ‘B1’ Class 4-6-0 named “Sir William Gray”. The loco was built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1947. Always a Yorkshire West Riding engine it was w/d from York in 5/67 and cut up at Draper’s Hull in 12/67. “SWG” was a director of the LNER who ‘unveiled’ his nameplate at Stockton in Dec. 1947. The plate is in fine condition restored some years ago. See next lot. |
