121 Enamel Advertising Sign “1st. Sunday Pictorial” featuring an image of a 1st. Class carriage door. v.g.c. and with very good colour and shine. In a wooden frame. 43.3x16.2in. o/all. 133 Caledonian Rly. large 3 aspect Handlamp with a skirt. Top and body both stamped with matching “Caledonian 1686”. Complete with vessel, rape oil burner, reflector and all glasses. Restored & v.g.c. Rare to find a Caley with matching numbers.
122 Great Eastern Rly. small cast iron Crossing Numberplate “19”. These are in the same octagonal form as the company’s bridge plates and are difficult to find. Face restored only. 6x3.75in. 134 Rectangular cast iron Bridge Builders Plate “Patent Shaft & Axletree Co. Ld. Engineers Wednesbury 1897”. Restored a while ago. 11.3x7.8in.
123 Furness Railway Co. cast brass Signal Box Lever Collar. Clearly face marked “F.R.C. 108”. Makes a superb paperweight! 135 Seven different LNER Guards / Police Whistles in nickel, plastic and horn. All are nicely marked “LNER” or “L&NER” and in v.g.c. (7).
124 A printed Sheet of Loco Numbers titled “Willesden Power Allocation” and listing 108 steam and 19 diesel locos. Pinned into a wooden frame 16.25x13.5in. o/all. Recovered from the shed forman’s office and very evocative. 136 LNER 3 aspect Handlamp. The body has a brass plate “London & North Eastern Railway Rotherham Pass”. Complete with vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. Unrestored. From the former GCR Rotherham & Masboro station.
125 Great Northern Railway copper Station Platform Lamp Top bearing an original but faded “Bottesford” white glass name tablet. The lamp is clearly stamped “GNR” twice and is complete with its original mounting frog and all glazing. v.g.c. Bottesford, on the Nottingham - Grantham Line opened in 1850. 137 Great Eastern Railway fully titled enamel Trespass Notice. Some excellent restoration work to enamel losses to present a fine looking sign. An early and very scarce notice as the vast majority were replaced with cast iron examples. On a wooden backing frame. 33.5x21.6in.
126 Cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “61189” as carried by LNER ‘B1’ Class 4-6-0 named “Sir William Gray”. The loco was built by the Vulcan Foundry in 1947. Always a Yorkshire West Riding engine it was w/d from York in 5/67 and cut up at Draper’s Hull in 12/67. “SWG” was a director of the LNER who ‘unveiled’ his nameplate at Stockton in Dec. 1947. The plate is in fine condition restored some years ago. See next lot. 138 BR printed aluminium Station Sign “Crewe” with flanges to two long edges. Good ex-station condition. 37in. long.
127 Oval cast brass Locomotive ‘9x5’ Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 61189 Vulcan Foundry Co. Ltd. 1947” as carried by ‘B1’ “Sir William Gray”. Face restored only. See previous lot. 139 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “10A” (Springs Branch then Carnforth). Thin characters example. Face restored only.
128 “The Royal Automobile Club” double sided enamel Sign. A nice early sign by the Falkirk Iron Co. Some very well executed restoration to three areas otherwise edge chipping only. Very good colour and shine. 25x20in. 140 Pair of leather Cash Bags with brass plates “B.R. Wages Castle Bytham” and “B.R. Salaries South Witham”. Former MR stations on the Wymondham Jct - Bourne Route mostly run over M&GNJR metals. The stations closed in 1959 along with the M&GN system. (2).
129 Oval cast aluminium Locomotive Builders Plate “Brush Traction England No. 284 1961” as carried by BR Type 2 AIA-AIA Diesel Electric Loco No. D5683 into Traffic at Darnall. Became Class 31 No. 31255. Face painted but with fine ex-loco back stamped “31255”. 9.6x5.6in. 141 LNWR 3 Gallon metal Oil Can with brass plate “L&NWR Chg. Dept. Bucknell”. The can is also stamped “LNWR 3 Gall. Station Use”. v.g.c. Unrestored. 17in. tall. Bucknell is a station on the Central Wales Line.
130 “G.N. Hotel Leeds” silver plated half pint Tankard. Nicely face marked with the title in a belted garter. This hotel stood next door to Leeds Central station and the building still exists although the station was ultimately obliterated after closure in 1967. 142 LNER wooden balloon cased Mantle Clock. The original dial lettered “L.N.E.R 889”. Working order complete with pendulum & key. Records show that the clock was located in the G.E. Liverpool Street Hotel, Abercorn Rooms, Cambridge Room.
131 Pair of Great Eastern Rly. “GER” monogrammed cast iron Platform Seat Ends. Both back rail support sections have very good service repairs to fractures. Wooden runners are fixed to the bases. Restored. 143 Oval chromed cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “F.C. Hibberd & Co. Ltd. London NW10 Planet Loco No. 3893”. Ex loco condition 12x7.5in. together with a cast brass chassis plate “F.C.Hibberd & Co. Ltd. Chassis No. 2217 made in England”. Ex-loco 4.75x1.3in. As carried by Standard Gauge 4WDM, New via Thomas Hill to Dorman Long at their Newport Works at Middlesbrough. Still at their Dock St. foundry in 1970 but subsequently scrapped.
132 Midland Rly. Signal Box ‘Stick’ Telephone, complete with Ericsson handset, wooden electrical box and brass support column. v.g.c. and nicely presented on a wooden stand. 19in. tall. 144 Pair of official L&YR hallmarked silver Presentation Spoons. Each bears the enamelled full company title, coat of arms and Victorian crown. One is back engraved “Engineers”, the other “Engineers Fog”. v.g.c. and very scarce.
