73 Wooden Signal Box Board with applied letters “South Bank”. v.g.c. and face restored only. 64.4x11.4in. A former NER Tees-side box between Thornaby and Redcar. 85 Rolled stout paper coloured Signal Box Diagram “Hougham” with cut -outs for electric lights. Includes signals at Barkston Junction. Dated “19/9/63”. One very small corner loss otherwise v.g.c. 108x24in.
74 Pair of decorative brass Wall Lamps from a Pullman Car in the South Wales Pullman rake. Classical torches in shape and complete with mounting brackets, original tulip glasses and bulb holders. A fine pair in ex-car condition. 86 An original Oil Painting on canvas board by George Rogers depicting a scene on the Metropolitan District Railway. An unusual scene well portrayed by the artist. In a wooden frame 26x19.7in. o/all.
75 LNER ‘Coronation’ ware silver plated Waiter’s Tray by Walker & Hall. Top centre marked with the stylish “LNER” device associated with this well known train. v.g.c. 14in. dia. 87 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “31A” (Cambridge). The face background repainted only.
76 North British Railway enamel Sign referring to the “Locomotive Act 1861”, and made by the Falkirk Iron Co. Ltd. “W.F. Jackson General Manager” and the sign is dated “Edinburgh January 1898”. Some enamel losses to edges and corners but superb deep colour and shine. 18x14in. 88 BR(E) quad royal enamel Poster Board Header “British Railways”. Minor edge wear only. 53in. long.
77 “GER Makers 1899 Stratford Works” oval cast iron Coach Plate. Face restored only. 89 Plated steel Single Line Key Token with a riveted brass plate engraved “Firbeck ‘A’ To Maltby South”. A colliery section feeding into the South Yorkshire Joint Line.
78 Oval cast iron Locomotive ‘9x5’ Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 64364 Gorton Works 1904”. Ex GCR 0-6-0 Loco later Class J11 ‘Pom Pom’. The loco was allocated to Annesley, Leicester, Colwick, Tuxford and Langwith in B.R. days. Withdrawn from the latter 7/61 and cut up at Gorton 9/61. Face restored only. 90 Miniature steel Single Line Staff (‘C’ configuration). “Lismore / Ballyduff”. A section of former Great Southern & Western Railway of Ireland opened in Oct. 1872 and closed by the C.I.E. In March 1967.
79 LNER Locomotive Whistle as carried by ‘V2’ Class 2-6-2 No. 4781 / BR 60810 Built at Darlington in 1937. A Heaton and York Engine it was withdrawn 11/65 and cut up by George & Son Station Steel Wath in 3/66. A fine whistle lightly polished only stamped “60810” (twice). 91 A wooden Box bearing a large brass plate “GNR District Engineers Office Derby”. Complete with brass handle and clasp fastener. 17x6.3x10in. tall. v.g.c.
80 Railway Horse Brasses: “Mid & LNW” (H123); “L&NW & Mid. Rys” (H121) no lugs; “L&NWR” (H53); “L&NWR” (H51); “MR Co” (H61); “M.R. Co” (H62). Figures in brackets are references from the book Railway Horsebrasses by Ran Hawthorne. (6). 92 Oval cast iron Locomotive Builders Plate “Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns Ltd. 7096 Newcastle & Darlington 1943”. Unrestored 13x8.5in. As carried by Austerity 0-6-0ST new to the War Department as WD 75060. Later to the coal industry where it worked at Pemberton, Skiers Spring, Hafod and Raglan. It ended its days at Mill Pit Disposal Point, Kenfig Hill where it was scrapped in 6/1969.
81 “United States Steel Products Company U.S.A. 1915” cast iron War Department Wagon Plate. “A5” casting number to back. An impressive plate in ex-vehicle condition with a service repair to one fixing lug. 17.6x9.5in. o/all. 93 Inter-City stainless steel Swallow, left facing from a Class ‘43’ Power Car. v.g.c.
82 LNER (GCR pattern) 3 aspect Handlamp. Body stamped “LNE-C Retford Fogmen 18056”. Complete with vessel, LNER burner, reflector & glasses including a bullseye lens. Unrestored. 94 BR(Sc) quad royal pictorial Poster “Loch Lomond” by Alasdair MacFarlane. A fine image including the BR Paddle Steamer “Maid of the Loch”. Folds and a few tape stains to margins but impressive.
83 Midland Rly. Pocket sized Spirit Level by Easterbrooks of Sheffield. An ornately chased steel body with a brass top marked “M.R.” A superb item in working order. 6in. long. 95 “Station Hotel Newcastle” beautifully ornate silver plated Fish Server by Elkington. Crisply top marked with the title in a belted garter. Lovely condition.
84 LNER Station Platform Lamp Interior Vessel. A steel ‘drum’ lamp plated “LNER Hougham”. Complete with brass burner and brandy glass globe. A former GNR East Coast Main Line Station just south of Newark closed in Sept. 1957. See next lot. 96 “London & North Western Railway Beware of the Trains Look both up & down the line before you cross” cast iron Sign in good unrestored condition.
