49 Caledonian Railway upholstered Office / Dining Chair. “Chief Civil Engrs. St. Enoch” label and much script underneath. Nice carved “CR” intertwined monogram to back top rail. Good ex-service condition. 61 BR(E) small enamel Sign “Highways Act 1959. The British Railways Board hereby give notice that this way is not dedicated to the public”. Small amount of edge chipping to lower right corner only. v.g.c. and with very good colour and shine. 10x8in.
50 Great Eastern Rly. Loco Cab Front Window Spectacle Surround. Comprises internal and external brass frames stamped “GER 825” and centre spacer. 17.5in. dia. Unusual. 62 LNER Station Platform Lamp Interior Vessel. A brass ‘Drum’ Lamp with “LNER Algarkirk” brass plate. Complete with burner & glass globe and in v.g.c. See next lot.
51 North Eastern Rly. oval cast iron Bridge Numberplate “1”. v.g. unrestored condition. 63 GNR 12 in. mahogany cased roundhead Wall Clock. The dial is rewritten “GNR 1068 Stockall Marples & Co. Ltd. London E.C.” Lettering “LNER 9502” is clearly visible below. The clock has a fine fusee movement and a cast brass bezel. Records show that the clock was in use at Algarkirk signal box on the Boston - Spalding line. A superb timepiece in working order complete with pendulum, winding & bottom door keys, photo of the station & box and historical / technical data by Dr. D. Parr. Algarkirk closed in 1965.
52 “Crossing No Gates” cast aluminium Road Sign by Needham of Stockport. Retains all but a few of the original glass reflectors. v.g.c. and unrestored. 64 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “2D” (Coventry then Banbury). Face restored only.
53 GNR Lamp Case and Interior from a semaphore signal on the GN & LNW Joint Line. The case has two brass plates “Great Northern Railway No. 18369” and “Stathern I.S.3” (Ironstone Sidings). The interior lamp is plated “Stathern J” (Junction). v.g.c. throughout and nicely restored. 65 Six cast iron Wagon Plates: “Hurst Nelson Motherwell 1955”; “Met-Cam Wednesbury 1936”; “BR C&W 1948”; “R.Y. Pickering Wishaw”; “Chas. Roberts Wakefield” and “Cravens Sheffield 1947”. All nicely face restored only. (6).
54 Oval cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “The Drewry Car Co. Ltd. City Wall House, London E.C.2 Loco No. 2505 204hp 1954 constructed by the Vulcan Foundry Ltd. Newton-le-Willows Lancs. NHo. D240.” Face only lightly cleaned. 8x5in. Carried by standard gauge 0-6-0DM, new to City of Liverpool Trading Estate at Kirkby where it was No. 3. The loco is no longer extant. 66 “BR(M)” lead crystal Celery Vase. The slightly facetted bowl bearing script intials to the face stands on a baluster stem with pedestal foot. A quality item in lovely condition. 10in. tall.
55 Oval cast iron ‘9x5’ Works Numberplate “London & North Eastern Railway 5166 1897” as carried by ex-GCR Class 9H 0-6-0 loco later Class J10 which became BR No. 65166 in 3/1949. Built by Beyer Peacock (Wks. no. 3764). It was withdrawn 12/59 and cut up at Gorton Works in 2/60. Lightly face restored only. 67 LNER double royal pictorial Poster “Berwick-upon-Tweed Historic walled town”. A fine period view by Higgins. Folds only and presented in a glazed frame. An uncommon poster.
56 Great Northern Rly. pewter Inkwell. “GNR” in an ornate cartouche to face. v.g.c. 68 A large Water Gauge Assembly reputedly from an industrial boiler at a locomotive works. Cast brass “Water level” indicators and valves. Complete with its glass protectors. An impressive item mounted on a polished wooden panel 24x6.7in o/all.
57 LMS sepia carriage photographic Panel “Edinburgh”. A fine city view showing many of the classical buildings and a bustling Princes Street. Two small surface losses to bottom edge otherwise v.g.c. and in an original glazed frame. 69 Original Great Central Railway Coat of Arms Transfer nicely mounted onto a wooden panel. v.g.c. 16.5x13.4in.
58 GER Sliding Knob Handlamp stamped “St. Anns Rd. 3” which was on the GE & Mid Joint Line later the Tottenham & Hampstead Joint. Complete with “GER” rape oil vessel, burner, reflector and back handle. Missing its red glass frame and knob but a scarce lamp from a station closed in 1942. Unrestored. 70 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “53B” (Hull Botanic Gardens). Face restored only.
59 GCR cast iron mechanical Fog Pit Signal Repeater with a miniature semaphore arm from Stairfoot Jct. near Barnsley. Lacking some components but a scarce item nontheless. Unrestored. 42.5in. tall. 71 LNWR brass cased Telegraph Linesman’s Galvanometer. The case clearly incised “L&NW Rly. Telg. Dept. No. 212” plus registration number. A flip down curved plate reveals the graduated dial. A fine instrument complete with leather carrying handle.
60 Original Oil Painitng on canvas by the well known artist Barrie A.F. Clark depicting a work stained ex-LNER J69 Tank Loco No. 68608 hauling a short goods train along the Kelvedon & Tollesbury Light Railway in Essex. A fine image portraying the true spirit of the branch line. Framed 28x24in. o/all. 72 LNER pattern 2 aspect Locomotive Headlamp. Complete with vessel assembly, flip over red lens and good bullseye lens. Unrestored.
