457 Brass Locomotive Whistle from a BR Class ‘08’ 0-6-0 Diesel Electric Shunter. v.g.c. and polished lightly. 245mm. (9.6in) tall. 469 Carriage Print “The Atlantic Coast Go by Train” by Langhammer from the BR Southern Region Series “C” issued in 1965. A light central crease otherwise v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame.
458 BR Western Region double royal photographic Poster “Paignton” issued in 1962. A splendid view of a crowded beach scene in high summer and there is still a chap with a suit on! The poster is in v.g.c. with no folds. 470 GWR fully titled cast iron “Gate” Notice in unrestored condition.
459 London Transport cast iron Bridgeplates “T69” and “O101”.The latter from the Ongar branch. Face restored only. (2) 471 Southern Railway untitled cast iron Bridge Numberplate “117A” possibly from a station footbridge. Restored a while ago but the detail not picked out.
460 Four small enamel Signal Box Repeater Instrument Plates from the S&DJR Line: “Up Train / Down Train / Shunting / A”. All in v.g.c. (4). 472 Cast iron cased Signal Indicator. Trafolite plate to face “100 Up Mains I.B.S. Home and Distant - Line Clear”. Bakelite knob with directional arrow to “N” and “R”. Restored.
461 Webb and Thompson large Single Line Train Staff as used at a Signal Training School. Cast brass “A” plate to end but the “B” plate is missing. Remains of original red paint. 473 Manchester South Junction & Altrincham Rly cast iron Bridge Numberplate “MSJ & AR 24”. Face restored only.
462 BR Western Region double royal Letterpress Poster titled “Cheap Excursion Booking Daily to Instow, Barnstaple, Braunton, Morthoe and Woolacombe and Ilfracombe” from a list of stations including Bideford and Torrington. Dated Sept. 1956. Some splits and creases and a tad grubby but good content. 474 Small wooden Carriage Board. One face painted “Branksome, Parkstone, Poole, Broadstone, Bailey Gate, Spetisbury, Blandford, Shillingstone, Sturminster Newton, Stalbridge, Henstridge, Templecombe”. The other face has “Poole, Broadstone, Blandford, Wincanton, Evercreech Jct. Bath, Bristol (T. Meads)”. All original paintwork. Nearly all of the S&D Mainline in one relic!!
463 LSWR McKenzie & Holland titled cast iron Milepost Fraction “1/2”. This style of plate was unique to the Somerset & Dorset Joint Rly and this example came from Blandford. Restored. 475 BR(W) aluminium Single Line Key Token, the head engraved “Newquay - St. Dennis Jc.” v.g.c. with remains of original yellow paint.
464 Brass cased Signal Box Bell Push. The description ring engraved “Main Norwood Junc. South”. v.g.c. and lightly polished. 476 Southern Railway enamel Station Sign “Booking Office”. General edge wear only. Very good colour and shine. 1220x305mm. (48x12in).
465 Vintage Gauge 2 Spirit Fired Live Steam 4-4-0 Locomotive and eight wheel Bogie Tender circa 1900. Typical Bavarian outline the loco having a pointed smokebox and ‘streamlined’ fairing below, also a streamlined cab front. The loco and tender bodies have had a repaint many years ago but some areas still retain original paintwork. Apart from a missing buffer, set of steps and a pair of cab handrails it appears to be complete but do have it checked out it you intend to steam it. A rare model indeed possibly manufactured by Bing. 670mm. (26.4in) overall buffers. 477 S&DJR small enamel Signal Box Signal Repeater Description Plate “Wellow & Radstock West”. v.g.c. This is the last of the superb collection of these plates in today’s sale.
466 Four Guards Thunderer Whistles: LMS, BR(NE), BR(E) and BR(M) examples. All v.g.c. and working. 478 Southern Railway 4 aspect Motorman’s Handlamp incorporating the unique purple glass for limited shunting movements in the wrong direction on a designated line. The top and back box bear brass plates “R.C. Crumpton Gillingham” and “R.C. Crumpton Motorman Gillingham”. Top and body stamped “S[E]R” and the top is also plated “S{E}R” and “1024”. Complete with “S[E]R” vessel and reflector, SR burner and all glasses. v.g.c. and restored.
467 LSWR 4 aspect side door Handlamp. Top stamped “LSWR” and brass plated “E” (Eastleigh) and “J.Defries & Sons Manufacturers London”. The body stamped “LSWR Sunningdale”. Top and body also have matching brass “43” plates. Complete with LSWR sloping fronted vessel, SR burner, LSWR reflector, all glasses and notched brass ring. A superb lamp in fine condition. 479 “Great Northern Railway Ireland” original Coat of Arms Transfer nicely mounted onto a polished wooden panel and presented in a glazed frame with gilt slip. 446x395mm. (17.5x15.5in) overall. This is the last of these superb original coats of arms in today’s sale from the collection of the London Railway Club / Woolwich Railway Museum.
468 BR(S) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Maidstone Barracks”. Three re-touched face chips, the largest in the lower panel. Very good colour and shine. A former SECR station opened in July 1874. 480 LMS Cart Rear Lamp. Top embossed with company initials. Complete with original LMS vessel and burner, reflector, rear bracket and spring clip and a good red bullseye lens.
