Original Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway Coat of Arms Transfer upon a wooden shield which was produced for and used during the centenary celebrations of the forming of the Somerset Central Railway in 1954 (the line having opened in Aug. 1854). A special train was run on 28th. Aug. 1954 from Glastonbury to Burnham and back hauled by 3F 0-6-0 Loco. No. 43201 specially bedecked for the occasion. A photocopied photograph taken at the time shows the crest with the driver and Highbridge shedmaster and accompanies the lot. The shield has bowed with age but is in lovely original condition. |

This company were carriers to several railway companies and clients displayed these cards in their window if they required the driver to call and collect parcels. v.g.c. and scarce. 210x150mm. Chloria was an eight wheel Pullman Car used on the Golden Arrow
