Cast brass Nameplate “City
of Exeter”. As carried by a road locomotive type traction engine built
by Burrells of Thetford in 1912 (Works No. 3395) for Hancock’s Brickworks
in Exeter. The engine was subsequently purchased for preservation
and has been renamed “The Dalesman”. The plate is devoid of paint
and is lightly polished only. 356x89mm. (14x3.5in). |

zero to 140 degrees. Maker’s name to base “J.A. Jordan & Sons Bilston”
and date marked for August 1909 so almost 100 years old!! The back
exhibits Stephens’ terms and conditions of display and other information.

from Chester in connection with the Royal Agricultural Show June 17th
- 24th 1893. An un-issued specimen ticket in fine condition. |

Oval cast brass Locomotive
Builders Plate “LMS Built 1943 GWR”. As carried by a LMS Class 7F,
later 8F 2-8-0 built by the GWR at Swindon in the number range 8400
- 26, BR 48400 - 26. A member of this batch No. 48409 was allocated
to Bath Green Park for freight working over the S&D line in 1964 /
65. The plate is lightly face restored only and has “LMS” incised
in the back. Torch damage to one bolt hole. 268x153mm. (10.5x6in). |

v.g.c. with very good colour and shine. |

Minor chips to one screwhole only otherwise fine condition. 1342x298mm.
(53x12in). A former LSWR station between Yeovil and Chard Jct. opened

original Coat of Arms Transfer nicely mounted onto a painted board
and displayed in a glazed oak frame with gilt slip. Ivorine plate
to top “Presented by H.N. Gresley Esq.” (soon to be Sir Nigel). This
is the first of our coats of arms in the sale today which were originally
in the collection of the Railway Club of London, later moved for display
in the Woolwich Railway Museum which is now closed. 435x355mm. (17x14in). |

“Lidford” and “Lifton”. A section of the Yelverton - Launceston Branch
which closed in December 1962. |

LSWR four aspect Handlamp.
The body is stamped “L&SWR 354” and “H.Emmett”. The top has a large
brass plate “Signal Lineman Launceston” and a small “17” plate. Complete
with “SWR” vessel, “SR” burner, reflector and all glasses. Unrestored.
A station on the ‘Withered Arm’ section between Halwill Jct. and Wadebridge
opened in July 1886 and closed in Oct. 1966. |

The back of the case nicely lettered “NBR 1568” and the enamelled
dial is marked “J.G. Graves Waltham Mass”. Small hairline crack to
