354 Carriage Print “Balmoral Castle, Aberdeenshire” by Kenneth Steele from the Scottish Region 1956-57 series. Minor corner loss and some light damp marks. In an original type glazed frame. An uncommon print. 364 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “12B” (Carlisle Canal then Upperby). Face restored only.
355 Half pint pewter Tankard by James Yates. Engraved around the face in script “Station Hotel C.A.”. Thought to be Coupar Angus on the former Caledonian Railway. Minor wear otherwise v.g.c. 365 “Furness Railway Company” original Coat of Arms Transfer nicely mounted onto a painted wooden panel. v.g.c. 272x298mm. (10.7x11.7in).
356 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “50D” (Starbeck). An uncommon code in unrestored condition from the former NER shed near Harrogate which always had a good selection of LNER D49 Hunts amongst its allocation. 366 “Caledonian Hotel Edinburgh” fibre Tag complete with original key attached. The reverse of the tag is stamped “Room 410” and the key “4/410”. v.g.c. This hotel was opened by the Cal. Rly. Co. in 1904. It was sold out of railway ownership in 1981 but the name still remains.
357 GNR mahogany cased Signal Box Block Bell with tapper and underslung bell. Ivorine label to front “Boultham Jc”. Some screws are required to secure some internal loose components otherwise superb condition. A GN & GE Joint location on the Lincoln avoiding line. 367 BR 3 aspect Handlamp unusually retaining to the body a brass label “Great Northern Railway Company Bardney 1”. Obviously a devout GN employee who retained his plate for use on his more modern lamp. Complete with vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. Unrestored ex-service condition.
358 LNER Great Eastern Restaurant Cars silver plated Mustard Spoon by Elkington. Crisply top marked “LNER GERC”. v.g.c. 368 LM&SR fully titled letterpress Poster for the Highland Section “Mid Ross Football Shield Semi-Final Alness United v Dingwall Victoria United Half Day Excursion to Alness on Saturday 12th April”. Shows small time & fare table for trains from Dingwall, Foulis and Novar. Printed Inverness 1924. A scarce survivor in v.g.c. with folds only. 447x570mm. (17.5x22.5in).
359 “The Royal Mail Steam Packet Company” silver plated Icecream or Sorbet Spoon by Walker & Hall. The blade end of the spoon is ornately engraved with a floral & geometric pattern and the handle is nicely top marked with the full company belted garter title around the house flag below a crown. v.g.c. 369 GCR ebonised 12” roundhead Wall Clock with a non-fusee movement by Winterhalder & Hoffmeier. The dial is re-written “LNER 8937”. The side of the back box has an oval embossed label “LMS 11177”. The clock is in v.g.c. and is complete with small pendulum and key. According to Ian Lyman’s fine clock book the original GCR location for this clock was one beginning with the letter ‘O’ which would give only a hand full of possibilities, Oldham / Ollerton etc. His book also lists that this clock was sold through the BR Derby sales in 1986.
360 “Pacific Steam Navigation Company” silver plated Sugar Caster by Mappin & Webb. The bowl has a delicate pierced floral decoration and the handle is crisply top marked with the full company belted garter title around a Victorian crown. v.g.c. 370 BR(E) flangeless enamelled Sign “Please Show Tickets”. Chips to three corners and very minor edge wear, otherwise a fine sign with lovely deep colour and shine. 254x407mm. (10x16in).
361 “Pacific Steam Navigation Company” silver plated Mustard Spoon by Walker & Hall. Crisply top marked with the same crest as the previous lot. v.g.c. 371 “Great Northern Railway (I). Caution before crossing look out for trains both ways”. An uncommon and pleasing Irish cast iron Notice. In fine unrestored condition.
362 North Eastern Railway Guard’s ‘organ pipe’ style nickel Whistle. Boldly incised “NER” and in working order. v.g.c. 372 An early china Coffee Cup printed with an 1840’s looking train hauled by a 2-2-2 locomotive “Express” with an alpine back drop. Base marked “Railway made in England for P.V.” v.g.c.
363 Painted aluminium London Transport Underground Car Numberplate “012512”. Label to back reads “From 1949 Tube Stock Trailer entered service 5/5/53 on the Northern Line. One of 21 trailers built”. Good ex-car condition.
