250 LNER 3 aspect Great Eastern pattern Sliding Knob Handlamp. The top stamped “LNE-E Whitemoor”. The body date stamped for 1937. The lining drum unusually stamped “LNER”. Complete with original “LNE-E” vessel, “LNER” burner, reflector, copper lens cone and all glasses including apple green shade. v.g.c. and restored. 261 BR (Scottish Region) letterpress Poster Closure Notice “Withdrawal of railway passenger services between Oban, Connel Ferry and Ballachulish 2nd. March 1964”. Also lists the nine stations to be closed. v.g.c. with folds only.
251 “Victoria & Euston Hotel” large 25mm. one piece gilt Button. The full title around an arm holding a branch. A very scarce button not illustrated in Froggatt. The two hotels separated by the famous Doric arch were opened by the London & Birmingham Rly in Sept. and Dec. 1839. Respectively. The two hotels were linked by a new block built in 1881 to give a total accommodation of 300 rooms. 262 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “12A” (Carlisle Upperby then Kingmoor). Face restored only a while ago.
252 “LYR” 4 tier, 5 compartment metal Publicity Rack in lovely original condition bearing the “LYR” shaded initials to the face. Please note: This is the proper job not a modern repro! 263 BR(ER) enamel and nickel “Foreman” totem Cap Badge by Gaunt in superb condition & complete with rear sliding pin.
253 L&NER fully titled cast iron Notice “Beware of the Trains Look both up and down the line before you cross”. Casting number “021” from Ramsey St. Mary station. Unrest. with one bolt head still in. 264 Two BR (ER) enamel Cap Badges: Fishtail “Porter” (nickel) and totem “British Railways” (brass). Both by Gaunt and in v.g.c. (2).
254 Swiss Railways double royal pictorial Poster “Switzerland” featuring naive artwork of houses in an Alpine scene by A. Carigiet published in 1944. The top bears an ink stamp “British Railways authorised for exhibition etc.” Printers details and sub title intact at the bottom but cut down below this. Folds and small nicks only. 265 Glazed stoneware Flagon lettered “W.Bateson Railway Hotel Pitsea Essex 2”. v.g.c. 400mm. (15.75in) tall. Pitsea is a former London Tilbury & Southend Rly. station west of Southend opened in June 1888.
255 BR(ER) fully flanged enamel Sign “British Railways Staff Association Boston Branch” incorporating a BR Lion and Wheel device to centre and “BRSA” scroll. Chips to edges / flanges only. Superb colour & shine. 1220x612mm. (48x24in). 266 “GNR This water is not fit for drinking purposes” small cast iron Notice. Face restored only.
256 Western Australian Government Railway china Teacup. Face marked in an oval “Property of the W.A.G.R. Refreshment Rooms & Cars”. v.g.c. 267 SNCF French Railways small pictorial Poster “Lourdes go by train to the shrines of France”. Features artwork by Jean Colin of a kneeling figure before a vision of the virgin Mary. v.g.c. with no folds.
257 LMS Crossing Gate Lamp Case (Midland pattern). Very large curved brass plate to top embossed “LMSR Co”. Complete with a good red bullseye lens to the front and an impressive ribbed semi-circular red lens to rear. No interior. v.g. original cond. 268 LNER brass cased Pressure Gauge for vacuum brake usage. The original dial lettered “LNER Gresham & Craven Ltd. Manufacturers to the Vacuum Brake Co. Ld” and graduated to 30 p.s.i.
258 East Coast Joint Stock (GN, NE & NB Rlys.) large circular copper Cooking Pot Lid with handle. Clearly marked “ECJS” flanged all round. 438mm. (17.25in) dia. v.g.c. 269 Great Northern Rly. early 3 hole cast iron Railchair. Embossed “GNR 1877 GWP & Co.” Nicely restored.
259 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “64A” (St. Margaret’s Edinburgh).Face rest. only. 270 L & NWR slim mahogany framed wall hung Showcase / Notice Board. The wooden back panel superbly branded “L&NWR Co.” The lift up front panel has “LNWR” hinges. Requires glass panel to complete. 793x585x38mm. (31x23x1.5in).
260 “Caledonian & London & North Western Railway Map of Scotland” so titled folded system map backed on linen. A fine map with vignettes of company owned hotels. Some splits where folded but generally good condition. 740x492mm. (29x19.4in). 271 GNR engraved brass Signal Box Signal Instrument Plate “Up Line from Aslockton”. From Elton & Orston Signal Box on the Nottingham - Grantham Line. 180x22mm. (7x0.85in).
