232 Aluminium Single Line Tablet “Moulton - Clay Lake 27”. A section of former M&GNJR between Spalding and Sutton Bridge closed in March 1959. In very good condition. 241 LMS cast iron 4 pint Kettle by Swain. Complete with lid. “LMS” clearly embossed on face. In very good ex service condition.
233 “Mitchell’s Scotch Whisky” pictorial Advertising Showcard featuring superb artwork of the Battleship H.M.S. “Dreadnought” at sea by M.D. Black. Light creases to two corners otherwise good condition. 450x595mm. (17.7x23.4in). 242 BR(W) fully flanged enamel Sign “Keep left for railway station”. Cream lettering on a brown background. Some largish chips but good colour and shine. 1073x692mm. (42.25x27.25in).
234 “Welsh Wagon Works Ltd. Cardiff Builders” cast iron crown shaped Wagon Plate. Resin repair to bottom right corner loss but displays well. 243 “Great Eastern Hotel Harwich” silver plated Candle Holder with integral drip tray with beaded rim and an elegant scrolled handle. The full title crisply top marked in a belted garter below the dragon’s wing device. v.g.c.
235 GNR mahogany short cased Signal Box Block Instrument. Clearly marked “GNR Tele” ivorine plate to face “From Boultham” (minor loss at right end). “Train on line / Line clear / Line blocked” dial (slight damage to paper) with free swinging needle. A nice instrument from the GN & GE Joint Line avoiding Lincoln station. 244 A selection of silver plated Fish Knives and Forks all with solid ribbed handles: “L&YR Refreshemnt Rooms Blackburn” (Fork); “G&SW Rly Hotels (knife); “Ayr Station Hotel (knife); “Caledonian Railway Central Station Hotel Glasgow” (knife); “L&NWR Dining Saloon” (fork); “L&NWR Broad Street Station Restaurant” (fork); “Victoria Station Hotel Nottingham” (knife & fork); “LMS Exchange Station Hotel Liverpool” (knife & fork). A good selection including some scarce examples. Good condition in the main. (10).
236 “Great Central Railway” enamel and brass First World War Service Badge in v.g.c. 245 Oak cased Signal Box Telephone. Etched brass plate to face is lettered “To call Signal Box” followed by eight lines of instructions. v.g.c. and complete with handset and braided flex.
237 BR(Scottish Region) small Ticket Condition Enamel Notice. Very minor chips only. Label on back reads “Morar” the station of origin which is the last station on the Fort William - Mallaig Line before the terminus itself. 246 Oval engraved brass Locomotive Builders Plate “No 2069 Doncaster 1950”. As carried by (LMS) Class 4F 2-6-0 Loco No. 43062. A New England engine then periods at Boston and Colwick before withdrawal from Staveley Barrow Hill June 1965 to be cut up by Wards of Killamarsh in Sept. 65. This loco hauled the last passenger train over the Bourne - Essendine Branch on 16/6/1951. A book containing account of the trip accompanies. The plate is in fine condition, face lightly polished only. The back is impressed “Works Serial Number Plate Drg. 17114D No. 36953”. 314x164mm. (12.4x6.5in).
238 Great Northern Railway mahogany cased 8 in. roundhead Wall Clock with a fine fusee movement probably by John Walker. The dial is written “GNR” and a label inside reads “10024” (the LNER number). The clock retains its original cast brass bezel, Walker hands and lock to bottom door. It is stamped “GNR” in the back case and inside the side door. Full working order complete with pendulum and keys. (The cranked winding key is also stamped “GNR”). This fine little clock was in service in the Permanent Way Inspector’s Office at Essendine. 247 “GWR” pressed aluminium Ashtray. The roundel device prominently displayed top centre. v.g.c. 136mm. dia. (5.3in).
239 West Riding & Grimsby Rly. cast iron Viaduct Numberplate “WR & GR 60”. Face restored. From the multi-arch structure on the southern approaches to Wakefield Westgate station. 248 “GWR Refreshment Department” silver plated Tea / Coffee Spoon by Elkington. Crisply top marked with the “GWR” script initials within the titled belted garter. An early style piece in superb condition.
240 Carriage Print “Wisbech, Cambridge-shire” by Gyrth Russell. A fine river view from the 1948-55 series in very good condition and in an original type glazed frame. 249 Fibre Single Line Tablet “Kirkby Stephen Jc. - Warcop 16”. Section of former North Eastern Railway connecting to the West Coast Main Line at Eden Valley Jct. south of Penrith, which closed in Jan. 1962. Ex service condition.
