Oval engraved brass Locomotive Builders Plate “No 2069 Doncaster 1950”. As carried by (LMS) Class 4F 2-6-0 Loco No. 43062. A New England engine then periods at Boston and Colwick before withdrawal from Staveley Barrow Hill June 1965 to be cut up by Wards of Killamarsh in Sept. 65. This loco hauled the last passenger train over the Bourne - Essendine Branch on 16/6/1951. A book containing account of the trip accompanies. The plate is in fine condition, face lightly polished only. The back is impressed “Works Serial Number Plate Drg. 17114D No. 36953”. 314x164mm. (12.4x6.5in). |

Great Northern Railway mahogany cased 8 in. roundhead Wall Clock with a fine fusee movement probably by John Walker. The dial is written “GNR” and a label inside reads “10024” (the LNER number). The clock retains its original cast brass bezel, Walker hands and lock to bottom door. It is stamped “GNR” in the back case and inside the side door. Full working order complete with pendulum and keys. (The cranked winding key is also stamped “GNR”). This fine little clock was in service in the Permanent Way Inspector’s Office at Essendine. |
