209 Two Sligo, Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway fully titled letterpress Poster Notices: “By-laws and regulations” 1905 and “Table of offences and penalties”. 1922. Both v.g.c. and in glazed frames. 820x592mm. (32.3x23.3in) o/all and 852x480mm. (33.5x19in) o/all respectively. This railway opened in stages between 1879 and 1882 and ran 42 miles from Ballysodare to Enniskillen. The line closed in Oct. 1957. 221 Selection of Shipping Company China: “Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company” matching coffee cup and saucer; “Cunard Steam Ship Company” oval dish; “Union Castle Line” soup bowl; “Caledonian Steam Packet Co.” soup bowl. All pieces in v.g.c. (5).
210 Railway Convalescent Homes Lapel Badges all displaying the multi-shields, rampant white horse and full title: Comprises the first issue, 1935-40, 1948-51, 1951-54 and 1954-64 issues. (Froggatt plate 69). All v.g.c. (5). 222 “Great Eastern Railway Trespassers will be prosecuted” cast iron Notice. Face restored only.
211 Two GCR brass Thunderer Whistles: “GCR P.Way 2801” by Henry Riley and “GCR” by J. Hudson with medium “GCR” nickel button attached to ring mount. Both examples nicely marked on the barrel sides and in v.g. working order. (2). 223 “Mersey Railway Company” original Coat of Arms Transfer mounted onto a painted board. v.g.c. 393x393mm. (15.5x15.5in).
212 LNER Guards Pocket Watch with a 15 jewel Swiss movement by Selex. The enamelled dial has an inset seconds dial and the case back is engraved “LNER 7342”. A nice watch in very good condition and working. 224 “GCR J.717” oval cast brass Crane Number Plate. Face restored only. 107x64mm. (4.2x2.5in).
213 LMSR Sleeping Car Indicator to summon attendant. The round copper case boldly incised “LMSR” has a central slot which displays a semi-circular red painted brass disc when the button inside the sleeping car compartment is activated. A scarce item in v.g.c. 225 GWR 3 aspect brass collar Handlamp. The body clearly stamped “GWR” has an oval brass plate embossed “G.Polkey Ltd” manufacturers Birmingham”. Complete with original vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. A very nice example.
214 Large trafolite Signal Box Lever Description Plate “2 Points Down Nottingham. Up Siding. 1. (released from Grantham North)”. v.g.c. and attached to its cast iron lever bracket. 226 North Eastern Railway large 25mm. nickel “NER” script Button. Police overcoats issue (F1/2). g.c. and uncommon.
215 Two trafolite Signal Box Lever Description Plates “To Grimoldby” and “From Grimoldby”. v.g.c. A station on the former GNR Louth to Mablethorpe Line closed in Dec. 1960. (2). 227 North Staffs Railway medium 14mm. nickel gothic initials and knot Button. (F14/19). g.c.
216 LNER 3 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “LNE-D2” has extra tall handle. Body embossed “LNER” has a brass label “London & North Eastern Railway Newark”. Complete with vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. A nice lamp in v.g. unrestored condition virtually devoid of paint. 228 Three large Buttons: Somerset Joint Committee, 25.5mm. “SJC” script (F45/6); Brecon & Merthyr Rly. 25mm. “BMR” initials & loco (F23/15); “Midland Railway” 23mm. title & wyvern (F11/7). All examples are in nickel. (3).
217 White Star Line single sided card Menu for Breakfast aboard the S.S. “Megantic” on August 20th 1928. The famous house flag boldly displayed at the top. v.g.c. 229 “LNER” Permanent Way Man’s brass Warning Horn. A nice small example clearly marked with the company initials.
218 “White Star Line” silver plated Dinner Fork by E.M. Dickinson. The title and house flag clearly presented on the handle. v.g.c. 230 A Card Game “Counties of Britain served by the London & North Eastern Rly” by Jaques. Illustration of ‘A3’ Loco No. 2561 to box. Full set of 36 cards each with an illustration of a LNER travel poster. Complete with index cards and rules sheet. Contents v.g.c., the box fairly good.
219 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “40F” (Boston). A scarce code face restored only. 231 LNER cast iron “Booking Office” Doorplate. Nicely face restored only.
220 Midland Railway four pint metal Oil Can. Unusually embossed “MR” in script intials and stamped “1/2 gallon”. Good ex-service condition. 280mm. tall to top of handle. (11in).
