134 GNR / LNER Signal Box Nameboard “Old Leake” with applied letters. Very good condition and nicely restored. 1580x350mm. (62.2x13.75in). A location on the East Lincs Main Line between Boston and Firsby. 146 Metropolitan Railway tubular brass Guards Whistle. Clearly marked “M.E.T.” v.g.c. and working. Uncommon.
135 “Ian Allan Locospotters Club” light blue enamel and chrome finish Lapel Badge for Scottish Region devotees. v.g.c. 147 Two restored GNR cast iron Fire Bucket Brackets each embossed “GNR” and bolted to a new wooden board with moulded edge. 950x255mm. (37.4x10in). Very nicely presented. See next lot.
136 BR Marine double ended china Egg Cup which accepts a goose egg and a hens egg. Face lettered “BR” in script initials with a seahorse between. v.g.c. and most unusual. 107mm. (4.2in) tall. 148 Two original Fire Buckets suitable for the previous lot: A scarce Great Eastern Rly. example, stamped “GER” and a “LNER” example with embossed initials. Both v.g.c. and restored.
137 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “53C” (Hull Springhead). Face restored only a while ago. 149 BR(North Eastern Region) Guards Pocket Watch by Kay’s. The Swiss made movement marked “Kay & Co. Ltd.” The enamelled dial with inset seconds dial is lettered “Kays Standard Lever”. Back of the case is incised “NE” and numbered below “7246” on a separate plate. v.g.c. and working order.
138 “Great Central Railway Public Timetables July 12th. 1915”. 93pp. and complete with folding maps of main system & districts. Very nicely bound into hard covers with gold tooled spine “GCR July 1915”. Superb condition throughout. 150 Two cast iron Signal Box Lever Description Plates: LNWR “From W’rington” and LYR “Distant”. v.g.c. (2)
139 “Caledonian Railway Tourist Map of Scotland” with much detail. Small tape stain to the reverse which has company holiday details. Folding into pocket sized card covers with “CR Co” monogram and title “Scottish Tourist Map”. v.g.c. other than one small edge tear. 151 Carriage Print “Great Yarmouth, Norfolk” by E.T. Holding from the 1948 - 55 Series. A fine view of the river Yare and quayside. v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frrame.
140 “MR Co. Hotels” steel Corkscrew. The title clearly incised on two sides of the handle. v.g.c. and scarce. 152 London Transport double royal pictorial Poster published in 1963. Featuring fine artwork by Gaynor Chapman of stylised woodland with birds and animals. Minor foxing to edge of left margin and a light horizontal fold only otherwise v.g.c.
141 North Eastern Railway cast iron Gate Notices “Shut this gate” and “Penalty for neglect £2”. Nicely restored and always popular. 153 GNR mahogany cased Signal Box Block Instrument with pegging handle. “Train on line / Line Clear / Line Blocked dial with free swinging needle. Ivorine plate to face “Firsby Station”. A nice instrument in v.g.c. Firsby was on the East Lincs. Main Line and closed in 1970.
142 “LNER Wages Brundell” (sic) brass Cash Bag Label attached to its original leather mount. Brundall is a former GER station east of Norwich. 154 District Railway nickel Thunderer Guards Whistle nicely marked “DR” on the side. v.g.c. and working.
143 Two Trafolite Plates “Bradford” (180x25mm) and “Doncaster” (200x25mm.) with engraved lettering. v.g.c. Signalling? (2). 155 District Railway Permanent Way Man’s brass Warning Horn. Nicely marked “D.Ry.” on an oval brass plate. v.g.c. and working.
144 LNER 2 aspect Loco Drivers Handlamp. The body is embossed “LNER Loco” and has a metal plate stamped “C. Street Darnall Loco”. Complete with vessel, burner and glasses. v.g.c. and restored. The former GCR shed in Sheffield coded 39B and 41A. 156 “Dundalk & Newry Steam Packet Co. Ltd” small Letterpress Poster re: Goods and livestock services Great Britain and Ireland, June, July, Aug. 1927. Four tables of times, names of vessels and other travel info. Minor folds only. Very good condition and scarce.
145 Great Northern Railway fully titled cast iron Bridge Weight Restriction Notice. v.g.c. and face restored only a while ago. 157 Two Locomen’s metal Flare Lamps. One is stamped “LM&SR” and is complete with brass screw cap, chain and snuffer cap; the other is stamped “BR(NE)” and is complete with metal cap and chain. Both v.g.c. and in lightly polished metal finish. (2).
