27 Carriage Print “Edale, Derbyshire” by Jack Merriott. From the LMR 1957 Series. Minor losses to bottom right corner and a small tear to top edge. In an original type glazed frame. 37 “L&NER 1846 C&W Grantham” oval brass Pay Check. v.g.c. and much scarcer than the loco dept. examples.
28 Nottingham Victoria Station Miscellany: Metal tag stamped “Nottingham Vic. Main Water Meter. Subway” (with key); Opening Commemorative Medal 1900; “NJSC 57” (Nottm. Joint Sta. Committee) brass Paycheck; “NJS” small brass Button. All v.g.c. (4) 38 “Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Railway Service” First World War enamel and brass Lapel Badge in v.g.c.
29 “LNER Maintenance Ends” cast iron Plate. Face restored only. 39 “Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Transport Service” First World War enamel and brass Lapel Badge in v.g.c.
30 Misc. Railway China: “LNER” crescent side dish by Minton with yellow LNER script initials, blue & yellow decorative edge bands; “L&NER” full title in brown belted garter saucer with brown bands by Minton; “Great Norther Railway Refreshment Dept.” blue title, coat of arms and bands saucer; “LM & SR Co” (full title in blue garter plain sandwich plate by Dunn Bennett. All pieces top marked and in v.g.c. (4) Together with a “LNER” glass inkwell. 40 LNER Welch Patent Signal Lamp Interior with brass and copper plates both stamped “Aby”. Complete with burner and all glass and fittings. v.g.c. and restored. A former east Lincs station between Louth and Willoughby closed in Sept. 1961.
31 Five silver plated Mustard Spoons: “BTCS” (2); “HE Cars”; “Southern Railway” (garter); “LNER R.C.” together with a “Midland Railway Hotels” (garter) salt spoon. All v.g.c. (6). 41 NER 10” mahogany cased roundhead Wall Clock with a fine quality fusee movement. The service dial lettered “BR(E) 5935”. The brass movement plates have shaped corners and are spaced via turned pillars. One side door has been replaced and there are some veneer losses to the underside of the back box. Working order complete with key but lacks pendulum. Records show that this clock was last in service at Frodingham Yard Signal Box. Its original NER location unknown.
32 BR(ER) double royal pictorial Poster “Lincoln Travel by British Railways” by Kerry Lee. Fine stylised artwork by this artist who was commissioned to produce several similar works for other English cities. Light folds only. v.g.c. 42 “GNR 6” cast iron Viaduct Plate with casting code “B19”. Unrestored.
33 GNR large 3 aspect Handlamp. Top has outer remains of “George Samson Manufacturers Birmingham” brass label. Body stamped “GNR 11809” and has a brass location label “London & North Eastern Railway Grimoldby 3”. Complete with integral vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. v.g.c. and restored. A station between Louth & Mablethorpe closed in Dec. 1960. 43 “Railway Buttons Badges & Uniforms” by David J. Froggatt. 208pp. Published 1986. A nice clean example of this popular reference work. Minor wear to dust wrappers.
34 Original “Highland Railway Company” Coat of Arms Transfer mounted onto a green painted wooden panel replicating the colour of the company’s stock. Minor scuff to centre otherwise v.g.c. 344x279mm. (13.5x11in). 44 British Railways Station Closure Poster Notices for “Perth Princes Street Station” 760x505mm. (30x20in) and “Upper Greenock Station” (double royal size). Both notices detail alternative facilities by road and rail. v.g.c. Rolled only. (2).
35 “LNER Algarkirk” brass Platform Lamp Interior ‘Drum’ Lamp complete with burner and glass globe. A former GNR station between Boston and Spalding closed in Sept. 1961. 45 Belfast & County Down Railway brass Carriage Match Striker bearing the embossed initials “BCDR”. v.g.c. & scarce.
36 Rectangular cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “Sir W.G. Armstrong Whitworth & Co. (Engineers) Ltd. Scotswood Works Newcastle-on-Tyne No. 1493 1937”. As carried by LMS Black 5 4-6-0 Loco No. 45437. A Llandudno Jct and Holyhead loco followed by a longer period at Carlisle Upperby. Withdrawn from Kingmoor Oct. 1967 and cut up by Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Co. Wishaw in Feb. 1968. One small repair to bottom right corner. Very well done and not noticeable on front. 210x126mm.
