1 LNER cast iron Doorplate “Lamps”. A nice example face restored only. 14 “South Eastern & Chatham Railway” enamel and brass First World War Service Lapel Badge in v.g.c.
2 “LNER 242” cast iron Bridge Numberplate with casting number “B100”. Face restored only. From the subway which runs under the main lines at the north end of Grantham station. Spotters will remember it well! 15 Tyers brass faced steel Single Line Tablet “Holbeach - Gedney 3” in its original “Tyer & Co” leather pouch with hoop. From the M&GNJR Line between Spalding and Sutton Bridge which closed in March 1959. v.g.c. throughout.
3 GWR official cast iron Locomotive Paperweight No. 6000 “King George V”. One buffer missing from loco and tender otherwise a very good example. 323mm. long (12.7in). 16 Twin brass Diesel Horn Assembly, thought to be of early 1960’s vintage from a ‘Peak’ Class Loco or first generation Railcar. Cast iron mounting is embossed “Westinghouse London England B75967/1 and C 74848/2 & 4”. v.g.c. Lightly polished only.
4 Original Lion over Wheel British Railways Transfer as applied to locomotives etc. Mounted onto a black painted ply panel. A few scuffs but a nice early item. 420x495mm. (16.5x19.5in). 17 British United Airways pictorial Showcard. A fine artists image of a ‘Britannia’ Air Liner flying above the Victoria Falls. Good condition. 760x505mm. (30x20in).
5 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “40E” (Colwick, Nottingham). Face restored only. 18 Great Eastern Railway Policeman’s Truncheon nicely marked “GER 141”. v.g.c. and complete with leather strap.
6 “L&YR Co. 442” tubular Guards Whistle by Thomas Yates, Birmingham. v.g.c. and complete with original chain and button hole hook. Working order. 19 LNER Permanent Way Adlake Trackside Lamp Assembly displaying a large acrylic “C” (referring to ‘line clear’). “LNER” plate to body and complete with vessel and burner. Nicely restored and impressive.
7 “The Cunard Steam Ship Company Limited” matching china Cube Teapot, Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl by Foley Bone China and Stoniers Liverpool. A fine set in ivory with grey, yellow and black bands in v.g.c. throughout. The company title with crown & heraldic device, base marked. (3). 20 “L&NWR P.Way 9309” brass Thunderer Whistle by J. Hudson & Co. Birmingham. v.g.c. and working order.
8 “Great Northern Railway Beware of the trains look up and down the line before you cross” cast iron Notice. Face restored only. 21 Printed metal Notice with a base flange for standing on a desk or counter. “Dominion of Canada Insurance Tickets. Ask the Ticket Agent. The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company”. Black and red on a gold lacquered background. v.g.c. 97x216mm. (3.8x8.5in).
9 LNER gold 15 years First Aid Medallion. Fully titled around the Co. “Forward” shield Reverse inscribed to “R. Tennant”. v.g.c. 22 “Manor House Hotel Moretonhamp-stead” paper Luggage Label in v.g.c. 173x31mm. (6.8x1.2in). From the former GWR owned hotel in Devon.
10 LNER, Great Northern Rly pattern 3 aspect Handlamp. Top and body stamped “LNER”. Brass label to body “London & North Eastern Railway Boston 1525”. Complete with correct vessel, burner, reflector, copper lens cone and all glasses. A fine example, restored. 23 Two plastic cased Signal Box Repeaters. One has a distant semaphore arm with “On / Wrong / Off” and the other a needle with “Normal / Wrong / Reverse”. Both v.g.c. with free swinging indicators.(2)
11 (LNER) “Harbour Master” peaked Cap. Title in gilt wire with gilt wire laurel leaves to badge and peak. v.g.c. and complete with chin strap. 24 “J. Platt Railway Hotel Levenshulme” embossed glass Spirit Flask with cork stopper. v.g.c. 137mm. tall (5.4in). A former LNWR station on the Manchester - Stockport Line.
12 Locomotive copper Chimney Cap probably from a traction engine. Unusual item in v.g.c. 390mm. (15.3in) diameter overall. 25 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “53B” (Hull Botanic Gardens). Restored.
13 BR Signal Box Train Register 23/10/85 to 12/11/85 from Grand Sluice Box, Boston. Front cover is written “Last Train Register to be used at the Grand Sluice. Closed as a signal box Sat. 9th. Nov. 1985 21.50 hrs.”. v.g.c. 26 Furness Railway untitled cast iron Notice “Beware of Trains”. Face restored only a while ago.
