A former LNER station between Shettleston and Easthouse, Glasgow opened as Garrowhill Halt in March 1936. The ‘Halt’ removed in BR days. |

Great Central Rly. 3 aspect Handlamp. The body is stamped “GCR” and has a brass plate “GCR 10117 Chesterfield Mkt. Pl.” complete with “LNE-C” vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses including a bullseye lens. Unrestored. A former LD & ECR station opened as Chesterfield in March 1897. It was renamed Chesterfield Market Place in Jan. 1907 when the company was taken over by the GCR. Closure came in Dec. 1951. A lamp in fine condition and a scarce location. |

Great Eastern Railway 3 aspect Sliding Knob Handlamp. Clearly stamped “GER Tollesbury Pier 1” and date code stamped for April 1907. Complete with original “GER” vessel, “LNE” burner, reflector, all glasses and an intact back handle. Restored. The Kelvedon, Tiptree and Tollesbury Light Railway opened in Oct. 1904, ran originally to Tollesbury and was worked by the GER. The line was extended to Tollesbury Pier and opened in May 1907, but closed in July 1921! The original section of line from Kelvedon to Tollesbury soldiered on until closure in May 1951. A superb lamp from an incredibly scarce location with an existence of only 14 years. |
