337 Early cast iron Wagon Plate “MOS 352” (Ministry of Supply). Good unrestored condition. 260x156mm. (10.25x6in). 349 BR(LMR) double royal photographic Poster “The Midland Pullman the train of today. Fastest overland service from Manchester to London”. Timetable of services at the bottom which is dated Sept. 1961. A light central fold only. In a glazed blue lacquered frame. 967x657mm. overall. (38x26in).
338 GWR 1946 pattern wood cased Signal Box double line Block Instrument. Both needles swinging freely. “Line clear / Normal / Train on Line” face plate with selector and “Clearing Point Fouled / Train at Signal” flaps all above a plunger. Good ex-signal box condition. 350 Oval cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “41A” Sheffield Darnall. Face restored only.
339 Great North of Scotland Railway tinplate Correspondence Rack with three compartments lettered “North / South / Delivery” all in fine original paintwork. The backplate is face stamped “GNSR” below the suspension hole. The back is scratched in early script “Auchnagatt”, a station on the Maud Junction - Aberdeen Line where this rack was used. It closed in October 1965. 360x255mm. (14x10in). 351 Cambrian Railway Wax Stamp. The brass head lettered in reverse “Moat Lane Station Cam Ry.” on a turned wooden handle. v.g.c. The station was opened as Caersws in Sept. 1859. Re-named Moat Lane Junction in Jan. 1863 & closed in Dec. 1962. Photo reversed for clarity.
340 Live Steam 3.5in gauge coal fired Model of a NER later LNER Class Q5 0-8-0 Locomotive and Tender painted in LNER Apple Green livery and numbered 3449. A well engineered model with fully tubed copper boiler, inside valve gear, mechanically driven water pump and oiler, hand pump to tender, lever & quadrant reverse, sprung buffers, sliding cab roof, etc. Note that we do not have a current boiler certificate so it will need this if you intend to steam it. However a nicely finished model 1060mm. long overall buffers. (41.75in). 352 BR(NE) fully flanged enamel Station Sign “Ladies Room” with black edged letters. One small face chip only to upper area. Other light chips are to flanges. Superb deep colour and shine. 910x305mm. (36x12in).
341 Cast aluminium Road Sign “Narrow Bridge” with brass rimmed reflective beads. Maker’s name “Gowshall” clearly seen. Original post mounting brackets to back. Face restored a while ago. 353 Etched and polished aluminium Locomotive Builders Plate “General Electric Diesel - Electric Locomotive No. 12994 March 1941 Schenectady, N.Y. Made in USA”. As carried by a 500HP Bo-Bo locomotive built for the American Railroad. Regret no further details. Ex-loco condition. 204x127mm. (8x5in).
342 “Peak Frean & Co’s Biscuits & Cakes” Advertising Picture incorporating the Royal Warrant Coat of Arms. Some damp discolouration and a small puncture top left. In its original glazed oak frame engraved “Peak Frean & Co. Ltd.” with gilt slip. 100x710mm. overall (39.3x28in). Scarce. 354 Enamel Advertising Sign “Buchanan’s Black & White Scotch Whisky” with makers name “Patent Enamel Co. Ltd. B’ham”. Small losses to bottom edge and corners but lovely deep colour and shine. The purple background being uncommon amongst enamel signs. 915x610mm. (36x24in).
343 LMS enamel Station Lamp Tablet “Pendleton Broad St.” Re-touched enamel loss through “oad” and a small hole above first “n”. A tad weather beaten but perfectly displayable. A former LYR station opened in June 1889. Now named “Pendleton” only. 355 LNWR 3 aspect Handlamp. Top stamped “L&NWR”. The body is stamped “LNWR” and “Mostyn”. Complete with original “LNWR” vessel, “LMSR” burner, reflector, copper lens cone, front lens & “LNWR” rear trigger. The red glass is missing and the blue is cracked. A somewhat weathered example. From a station between Chester and Rhyl on the Flintshire coast.
344 Small polished wooden Box with a glazed lid with carved edges lettered in gold “Jacob’s Biscuits”. v.g.c. and ideal for a display of badges & buttons or biscuits of course! 303x203x53mm. (12x8x2in). 356 BR(M) small enamel Trespass Notice headed “The Railway Executive”. A particularly fine example and the only trespass notice that will fit into your back pocket! 125x101mm. (5x4in).
345 Carriage Print “Crowland, Lincolnshire” by Kenneth Steel from the 1948-55 series. A fine view of the main street leading to the unusual three arched bridge which long ago spanned three streams. v.g.c. and in an original type glazed frame. 357 BR(W) cast iron Locomotive Smokebox Numberplate “5694” as carried by a 56XX 0-6-2 Tank Loco built at Swindon. Face restored only. In BR days the loco was allocated to Merthyr, Treherbert and Cardiff Radyr and was one of the last batch of locos in the class to survive.
346 BR(M) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Hough Green”. Some very well restored and re-touched chips to present a good looking totem. A former Cheshire Lines Committee station between Warrington and Liverpool opened in May 1874. A scarce totem. 358 Carriage Print “Eccleston Ferry, Cheshire” by Charles Knight from the LMR series (B) issued in 1952. An uncommon print in v.g.c. and in an original frame with kite mark glass.
347 “LM & SR Co. 24A” cast iron Viaduct Plate. Face restored a while ago. 359 LMS Refreshment Dept. or Hotel Kitchen Bread Knife with wooden handle carved with ears of wheat and a stainless blade by Robert Mosley Ltd. of Sheffield. Clearly marked “LMS” in script initials. 326mm. long (12.8in). A seldom offered item of railway kitchenalia.
348 Axholme Joint Railway brass Station Master’s Cap Badge in LYR style, complete with rear lugs and sliding pin. An exceedingly rare badge from this company which was a joint concern of the LYR & NER from July 1902. It ran from Marshland Jct. and Fockerby to Haxey Jct and branches. Its identity was retained under LMS & LNER and became Nationalised in Jan. 1948. 360 MR 4 aspect Handlamp. The body stamped “MR Co” and has an oval brass plate “Midland Railway 6801B”. Complete with “LM&SR” vessel, “LMS” burner, reflector also marked “LMS” and all glasses. Restored.
