Glazed front panel with three apertures lettered “Train Waiting At” above an ivorine label “Up Goods Home Signals”. The case is cast “GNR Tele” behind the ivorine label. Replica LNWR ‘Experiment’ Class 4-6-0 Locomotive Nameplate No. 1553 “Faraday Crewe Works Jan 1909”. The original locomotive became LMS No. 5500 and was withdrawn in Dec. 1931. This impressive nameplate 54.6in long retains most of the wax infill to the characters and was specially commissioned by the general manager of the General Electric Company about 40 years ago for display at their Faraday House headquarters. The plate is attractively mounted on a mahogany display board. |

A former Midland Rly. station in Rutland between Glendon South Jct. and Saxby opened as Manton for Uppingham in May 1848. Re-named as the totem in Oct. 1934 and closed in June 1966. |
